Hello,

I have 2 canceled k1 petition
(1 got approved 2011. I didn't continue with the petition.
2nd petition, got approved July and now waiting for me to schedule the interview.
but I am not going to continue with the petition because my fiance cheated on me before we got approved. So I plan to not continue it again.)

My question now is will it affect my future petition?

:((

It might affect your next petition if you are going to file again in next few months. They might suspect u that u are using Americans. But, I don't think it will affect your future petition as long as your previous petitions ate cancelled. Goodluck!! And pls don't worry too much about your future petition as if you really are planning to get one US citizen lover again :)

Well me and my ex fiance broke up in May. But even then for the past two years we got back together we had horrible fights that eventually led to cheating and break up.

I am currently consistently in touch with someone in the US and I can tell there is something between us. He's coming over January 2014 so we can get to know each other more. I am just a lil worried because I don't want this to be a problem in the future and again lead to another tragic break up because of the distance.

I was thinking about that too, that they might think I am just using Americans and actually ban me from petitions or even coming to US. lol

I wanna know how you cancelled your petition, and how you knew your petition was done/closed. Because now I have to cancel my K-1 petition too. I did interview already, and I didn't get visa right away. They gave me a blue paper which requires more documents to prove my American fiance's finance. But he doesn't have sufficient savings according to the requirement, so we have to cancel it. What should I do to cancel? Is there any downside for me after I canceled?

Thanks

You don't necessarily have to cancel it. If he doesn't earn enough income, he can try to get a co-sponsor so that there will be proof that you, the beneficiary, will not become a burden on the US government.

Hello,

My first petition just canceled on its own. I didn't know how long it took before it happen. We got approved 2011.

the second petition was requested Oct 2012, NOA2 on July2013.

I called the immigration and they said my fiance have to cancel it because it was his petition so I cant do anything about it. The problem is I decided to take my ex fiance completely out of my life and he's lazy. The whole reason we got so much RFE. So I doubt he will cancel it...

Your fiance have to cancel it.

I just don't know how long before it cancel on its own.

I don't think it will cancel on it's own. You'll never know. The only way to cancel the petition is when the petitioner mail a cancelations letter to USCIS

NOA2 won't expire in just 4 months coz it will automatically extend.

Macey, how u know it was cancelled? As far as I know you will only know if ur previous petition has been cancelled if u have the letter from the embassy that ur petion has been closed. Or u attend ur interview and the consul didn't see the petition from ur 1st ex in their system..

I personally think it is not a good sign, they may deny you because a denial could force you to get married which they might worry you will not do because of the repeated k1 cancellations. I'm not exactly sure how it could not look like you're trying to get a ticket to the US, but at the same time it sounds like you could have had a ticket but didn't go. It certainly isn't going to help you, but you can always get married that is pretty much a sure thing if you aren't a criminal. Good luck.
