I think creating USCIS status info on line and CEAC was a good idea

but I am beginning to wonder how many people will end up with a

nervous breakdown checking these sites, reading some comments

after ppl have checked them 10 or more times daily, I imagine

them behaving like research rabbits that keep pressing the lever for

more drugs after they've learned how to.

Love, lives and being together is at stake, its easy to say calm down

but at times ppl cannot stress over a situation they have no power

to change but wait....don't go mental

Just out of curiousity: do you realize how degrading it sounds when you compare people to rabbits on drugs? How is 'don't go mental' better than 'calm down' anyway?

(And no, i don't do it ten times a day.)

I'm the beneficiary.

I never checked tham at any time in the process, petition to citizenship. Waste of time. I received all notices by US mail in my mailbox and busied myself with other preparations which were actually useful and relieved stress. They also eliminate the feeling of helplessness if every day you wake up and say "What can I do today for my fiancee?" Checking that nonsense is not an answer.

How is comparing people to other animals degrading?

Well, i'd think for rabbits it's a pure reflex to want to get more of the drug, and people would differ by the ability to rationalize their actions. That's the difference between people and other animals (though in other aspects there are similarities, of course). I was asking the OP about this particular aspect though.

I'm the beneficiary.

I learned a lot from my daily checking, but our case was an anomoly all the way through, save for NVC. I got some speed at NVC at the front end, but that was from interactive stuff with staff there. clicking a mouse? using a telephone? not the same thing, but still takes up some of my time.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I just checked it for fun, to be honest. I have a lot work to do everyday at office beside talking to my fiance. When I get bored and then finally I went to USCIS website. It is nice to see when put my receipt number and showing information there. And no one knows when you get your approval, wink.png .

Funny enough the very 1st day I checked USCIS website to see the status of my fiance application was the very same day it was approved. One of the best feelings I ever had, it was as if they knew I was going go check it that day and decided the approve it.

We are all different in what ves us or motivates us. It may not help you to have the means to check status but it works for others. This forum is a means of support, not for us to criticize each other. While you don't see the need to have that tool to check status others use It to gauge timeframes and make preparations and it does give some people the sense of comfort to know where they are in the process. So, everyone do what works for them. No need to insult or criticize. Live and let live. Let give support each other. This is a great forum and the tools that are shared on this site have been useful. Good luck to all and much love.

Do what Gary recommends above and keep a firm count on how many rats are in your control group.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
