Hello everyone,

My adjustment of status is pending, I just got my biometrics taken yesterday and the officer said the next step will be an interview. I was wondering when I would be able to get my driving licence, do I have to wait until I get my green card? If it is possible to get a driving licence before getting these papers, then what is the procedure to follow? What am I supposed to do? I have been living with my husband in Virginia for a little more than 2 years now...

I precise I have researched on virginiadriverslicense.org and they require 2 proofs of id in my case, (one would be the passport + the other one could be my french national id?) one proof of legal presence, one proof of Virginia residency (financial statement would be enough?).

What kind of proof for "legal presence" would they accept apart from the green card? I'm just hoping there could be something else existing for us, applicants whom AOS is pending..?

I know it might be a little hasty but since I have been living in VA for over 2 years, I was wondering if I could get it, I can't work yet and this drives me crazy, not being able to drive makes living here harder...

I think you can get a drivers license with your current status. Or you can wait after the interview.
