K visas hardly spend any time at NVC unless they undergo Administrative Processing which is rare. The average time a K visa case stays at NVC is 5 days.

Ok why would a case undergo Admistrative processing? That is happening to our K-1 visa right now. Another post said because the que to process is lagged behind. But if others are going out that were received AFTER ours, what is going on? There is nothing I can think of that would cause a problem.

I've been around VJ since 2007, and I've never seen a good reason for Administrative Processing at NVC. It seems random. My guess is they just pull a few out of the pile randomly every so often, and decide to take a closer look at them.

tomi81357 congrats. Do you know if the interview wait time is long at the embassy? I am waiting to get our case number and get sent to the embassy in the next week or 2. We have all forms completed for Packet 3 to include all police reports and medical.

Also quick question has the Bangkok embassy went to the DS-160? I noticed on the embassy website that they are still showing the DS-156, 156K, 157, and the 260?

You will use the the one that starts with BNK2013xxxxxx that the NVC gave you. They ask her if she had a case number and she told them no so they just used her passport and they wanted to know what type of visa for the US. Took her and her soon about 2 hours
