Hi VJ members, I am planning on starting a petition in conjunction with my daughter (us citizen) for the establishment of a oversight body for the NVC similar to that of the Ombudsman that exist for the USCIS http://www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman. I find it amazing that there is an oversight body for the USCIS that is an arm of the US Government and there is no such body for a entity that is made up of contractors. I am of the strong opinion that it is because there is no body through petitioners can seek redress why the NVC behaves the way the presently do. There first responders are for the most part extremely arrogant and rude, as an example my wife called the NVC today and the first responder to whom she spoke told her (my wife) that she was talking over her and that she (my wife) talks too much etc., one would never believe that it is us the visa petitioners fees that is paying these people. In addition, on two occasions our daughter has submitted documents in response to NVC's checklist (concerning both my wife's and I visa petitions) and she will both sets of documents in one envelopment with the relevant Cover Sheet etc. and on both occasion NVC only acknowledge receipt of only one and then sent us another for the other and no protest on our part will make them change their position. Consequently, I am seeking support of the VJ members who think that it is a good idea to have the US Government establish an oversight body for the NVC through which visa petitioners can seek redress and justice relating to their cases and where our issues will be dealt with fairly and impartially. Let me know if you agree so that we can get started.

A.. Agree with all you have said here, however one rude individual does not speak to the professionalism of a company

B Maybe your daughter contacting her Congressperson with a complaint, I understand those call center agents provide names and ID #s

C I would imagine there is a place for this complaint, maybe contacting the ALIA they can put you in direct contact with an entity that oversees contract workers for USCIS

D I am no atty of a legal mind but from what I've garnered here when sending paper work or checks, they requires

separate checks for each individual, separate paper-work even if answers are the same, if not complete packets

are returned, now it can be in the same envelope, but a good idea is to separate each individuals by color paper.

E I am not meaning to offend so don't take this personally , it is in fact a privilege to immigrate to the US, not a right

they say even though your daughter is a citizen. I think an organization of such would be better formed for the

services of most entities in Jamaica. What do you think? I hope NVC get on your paper-work ASAP, Best wishes

Lastly I must say most people come here to get info making their way through immigration rough roads, most take all

they can and never returned, the ones who stress the most you will never hear from again, there are few die-hards I've noticed still here to help even-though there's been many changes, I say this to say the backing you ask for is not going to be here....peace out

ugh reset no no

Jawaree, thanks for your input it is greatly appreciated, and let me respond it the same format in which you posted your response.

A. My comment regarding the rudeness of NVC first responders does not apply to a single experience or one person. It is the norm I have experienced it on numerous occasion, our daughter (the petitioner) has refused to call them based on the numerous times that she has experienced their rude and arrogant behavior.

B. Our daughter calling her Congressman could have its drawback. I say this because we did that when the petition left USCIS for NVC and for approximately three (3) months we could not locate them i.e. USCIS stated that they forwarded them to NVC and NVC denied receiving them, ergo, we contacted the USCIS Ombudsman and Congressman et. al. and we strongly believe that this is the reason why we are experiencing the present difficulty with NVC i.e.we have been flagged.

C. Who or what is ALIA ?

D. The paper that we sent to NVC was submitted with the relevant Bar Coded Cover Sheet and all the relevant documents for each petition were stapled together, in addition the case number for each petition was written on the upper right hand corner of each page as per NVC instructions. It should be noted that one petition is complete and the documents (AOS, I-864 & I-864A) for the other is the exact same and why would we comply with NVC's instructions regarding one petition (Completed) and not the other.

E. I take no offence neither do I take personal. I have lived in Jamaica all my life & my wife & I are holders of B1/B2 visas & we have been visiting the USA from in the 1980. I am 64 and my wife is 60 and the only reason why we are migrating to the USA is to help our daughter with the raising of her two children (our Grandchildren) ages 7 (boy) & 18 months (Girl) & thats why I am not prepared to be treated with disrespect. We are not doing anything illegal we are playing by their rules and complying with system & doing so at significant cost, erog, I am of the opinion for that matter I insist that we all be treated in a respectful, just & amicable manner.

I take your point regarding getting support for the petition here, however, I will not be daunted I will be defenately starting one. Our daughter will be dispatching the required documents to NVC on Monday & we will see what NVC will use to extend our process for another of twenty (20) or thirty (30) working days... one love

Vol Point taken , I would not be surprised if your case was flagged as you believe

its in some ppls nature to be spiteful especially when the errors come from them,

another thing I learned here no dept. of the entire immigration system will fess up to mistakes.

Might I suggest your daughter send docs with a request form so the person the package is

delivered has to sign for it, the signature form is then returned to the post office who sends

this proof of delivery to your daughter quickly.Monday being a holiday will have her sending it

on Tues

ALIA is an entity that deals with immigration attys giving updates, events etc, however

the average lay-person can get some info but not in entirety has an atty....so google it

The complete USCIS, NVC & DOS seem to be backlogged and having lots of problems recently.

Hope you see some movement soon
