Hello,

My case is unusual. I am wondering if anybody had similar experience as mine.

I went through K-1 visa interview in Feb this year. Unfortunately I didn't get visa right away as my American fiance doesn't have job and sufficient bank saving.

At that moment I got a blue paper which requires to submit more documents to prove his finance. In the past few months, my fiance was trying to find a job to support me as the visa officer seems really to care about the job income. Finally he got a job offer from Europe, but he has to move to Europe. On one hand, we like to live in Europe. But on the other hand, we don't know what will be the consequence if I give up K-1 visa application. Will I be banned from entering USA in the future if I didn't complete the whole application process??

As the officer gave me a blue paper to require more documents instead of rejection, what should I do if I wanna cancel or close my visa application?

I know it sounds weird here. But I definitely appreciate any reply, any advice from you all.

Thanks!

I don't think you will be banned just because you cancelled your K-1 visa. But, if you wanted to live in US again in the future both of you have to filed I-129F and start over again. For more specific about cancellation of K-1 visa might some VJers here can shed some light for you.

My guess is that the petition has reached it's expiration date and since you haven't responded to the request the consular officer didn't extend it. You or your petitioner should contact GUZ IV to see if it's still open.

If at some time in the future the two of you chose to be in the US I would suggest that you do it as a married couple (with sufficient income) and chase an IR/CR 1. The question of the abandoned K-1 will come up but you shouldn't have any issues explaining what happened.

If you were to apply for a tourist visa to the US your failed K-1 will certainly be an issue as you have already shown your intent to immigrate.

Now that he has a good job maybe no more troubles in the future! Good luck!
