Apparently a lot of people took issue with her comments about processing times, she posted another comment to her original status update:

The timeline reports are based on cases that are being decided now and how long ago the cases were filed. Imagine you are at a grocery store. There are long lines and a new cash register opens up. It takes one minute per transaction. 20 people jump in that line. So the first person who went through took one minute. That would be the posted processing time at that moment because that's how long it took the person who just finished. But the person at the end of the line will actually take 20 minutes, not one. Ok, so the next two people go through. That third person took three minutes. The posted processing time changes to three minutes. But that 20th person is still going to wait 17 more minutes even though the posted processing time is three minutes. Alright. Let's say we get to person 19 and suddenly two more people get in the line. Person 20 finishes up and the posted processing time is 20 minutes. But those two who just got in line will not wait 20 minutes. They will wait 2 or 3 minutes. Make sense?

A shame isn't it. It's like last year when they sent all I-130's to NBC and new applications. August 15, 2012 to December it was approvals less that 60 days. Some 40 days and less. Than January OMG a wall went up. O have 3 friends fileds in January and February and nothing.

Doesn't make any sense what so ever. Yet we see K1's approved in 19 days. Really 19 days. How why? Sorry venting for my I-130 peeps.

Well a friend of mine had her INFOpass interview for I-130 Approved. She was a January filer. Like good heavens.

Not that helps the NB folk but at least a january filer got approved.

My husband called to USCIS.. they told him our case, we filed our case last May and didnt hear anythibg from then on..the USCIS guy told him..they are still working on october 2012 filers..so they told to wait for another 5-6 months..im so disappointed.

Do you trust Laurel and think she's right about the 6 months or less processing time going forward? I doubt that's the case and they're probably just saying those things to make us all happy.

she meant that they will be able to go through the backlog of I-130s and that processing times will slowly decrease (and her guess is august filers will see 6 months to approval). i think thats reasonable

I honestly don't think that's going to happen. It's too good to be true.

As a Septemer filer, the K-3 has to be seriously considered

If in fact it does turn out to be 6 months or less, why would you think about filing a K-3?

I was told the same, I'm a March filer. But according to the lawyer, August filers should be approved by then. So maybe everyone who filed in 2013 will be approved in March 2014

I agree. How can two lawyers at the same conference have such astronomically different predictions regarding processing times? Makes no sense.
