  Laurel Scott They said the remaining cases at local office -except for a few stragglers with RFEs - will be cleared out by the end of October.

  Laurel Scott They said NBC stopped sending cases to the local offices at the end of July, which is consistent with what we were told would happen when I went to the NBC meeting in May.

  Laurel Scott They also said NBC is sending I-130s to the Service Center, but I think the speaker was mistaken about that one. She represented the local USCIS offices in Florida, so I'm not sure she's 100% up to speed about what's going on at NBC. There is a new I-130 adjudication center at NBC and that's where I-130s were supposed to go when they stopped being sent to local offices.

Interesting. I thought they do these meetings twice a year and wasnt expecting until mid november. No mention of Overland Park being open...wish i had more info.

She did mention Overland Park in her "4 minutes ago" post.

AILA/NBC meetings are twice a year, I think.

Not sure what this conference was.. Maybe she will clarify later.

Were you ever able to confirm if you're at a field office or the NBC? Suddenly being at a field office is looking pretty good, if they honestly expect to clear the backlogs there in the next couple of weeks. It seems incredible based on the volume at some places (e.g., NYC), but I'm crossing my fingers for you and all the other Jan-April filers all the same!

The April 29 file that was approved last week or so reported that her approval came from the field office. She was not aware it was there until her approval. So I am wondering if they are handing out lies to avoid the flood of calls if they confirm a transfer.

Hah, could be. I can imagine them claiming it's all at NBC to avoid people making InfoPass appointments. I was hunting around one day and found information on USCIS's computer system, how there's some single case management system to make information easily accessible and blahblahblah. You'd never guess it exists, based on the run-around people get when they ask where their petitions are located.

I guess filing between Jan-May 2013 was the worst time to file. Ever.

So basically everyone who got transferred or applied after august are safe, and people whose files are still at NBC will collect dust.

Well that's not really true because the people that filed from Aug were directed to new NBC but the "new" place that was supposed to open by end of September at Overland Park, KS has no news or updates that it is actually processing stand-alone I-130's yet.

I am a July filer. I called USCIS yesterday to find out where my case is. I asked for a Tier 2 rep, she told me that my case is still pending at NBC and was not transferred she said feel free to call back in 30 days.
