Steven,

Considering .002 cents per kilobyte x 35,000kb and change, it does indeed add up to $71 and change....

Bottom line, it's the "up yours" mentality by the telecomunication industry.

Do you remember the days when cable tv advertised "no ads" for the monthly fee? Now you get ads on nearly every channel, to the tune of 30% of program time. That really sucks bigtime.

How about MTV, without ads? This channel is all ads now.

Telecom in the US really sucks. Don't even get me started on the cellular BS....

It's an actual recording of a dispute some guy had with verizon's billing center.

.002 cents = .00002 dollars.. 35000 X .00002 = $.70..

.002 dollars is just .002 dollars..

one cent is .01 dollar..

.002X.01 = .00002..

He's right.. it should have been 70 cents.. if it is .002 cents.. that's terrible...

Is that "Vodoo" math? :jest:

Firstly, .002 cents is not the same as .002 dollars. The first is 2/10 ths of a cent (one penny divided into 5 parts) and the other is 2 cents (100 times the 2/10 ths of a penny).

As an engineer, one that at least knows his arithmatic, I can see this guys frustration.......

It's not the math, it's their mistake in billing terminology. I was approaching the conclusion with "their" interest in mind.

Not that I agree, it's just Sh!tty business as usual.

By the way, when have you received a bill for .70 cents, for anything?

Creative accounting and misleading advertisement, has us all paying big bucks for marginal products and service.

Nobody picked up on my error? Well, I was wrong.....002 cents is 2/100 cents or a penny divided by 50, not 5 as I previously said.

In either case the Verizon "customer service" reps don't know their 3rd grade math.......

It's funny I was just talking about MTV with my daughter tonight-how it used to be the shiznit and the only thing we would watch in High School. She says now if someone in High School watches MTV they look at them like there is something wrong with them.
