Hello All,

I am very grateful for all the support this online community provides!

I would like to start an October 2013 Filers topic here to get more information about the rest of our process, espcially during this government shutdown!

I am sorry in advance that my timeline is not working, I am trying to get help from the VJ organizers to be able to post it.

The I-129F K-1 petition was sent to the TSC the 1st of October, 2013 - the first day of the government shut down (Brazilian benificiary).

Recieved the electornic NOA1 yesterday October 9th, 2013 saying that it will be forwarded to CSC.

I would like help with understanding the waiting period at CSC between NOA1 and NOA2. Also would like to understand the waiting period between NOA2 and NVC and NVC and Consulate.

I see on VJ that the current wait time is about 3 months for NOA1 to NOA2, but on the USCIS website it says 5 months. On some threads I am seeing that it is 7.5 months and on others I am seeing that they were approved in 20 days!

Is it truly 5 months between NOA1 and NOA2 or is it 5 months between NOA1 and NVC? Or is it actually 1-3 months as I am seeing on the VJ site?

Any tips very appreciated!

Thanks!

I see the same thing, it's encouraging to see some people receiving NOA2s weeks after the NOA1, but I think that is the exception rather than the norm. I filed a few days ago, and will be eagerly awaiting any updates myself. You can update your signature in the meantime, until you are able to post a timeline. I saw a lot of posters do that, so I did it myself, see below:

Good Luck to us October Filers!

We just had our petition sent to the National Benefits Center, so either Kansas or Missouri. I guess we won't hear back for about a year or so since apparently it's all chaotic there :P

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I can't believe I am seeing others get their NOA2 in 2 months!! Lets see if it is true! I was planning on 5 months all along...can anyone answer my question regarding this 5 month period that USCIS states? Also, is the NOA2 to NVC really taking two months?

I think the 5 months is an average or estimated time. It seems like the CA processing center is getting them done much faster but that creates a backlog at NVC. So you might get a NOA2 in 2 months but it will sit at NVC for 2 months so it is kind of a wash. Of course 4 months is still pretty quick. I also think that it is kind of like the lottery in how fast your petition gets processed. If you get lucky it will be quick but some people have to wait a long time. Here's hoping we all get lucky!

Recieved the NOA1 hard copy in the mail today...im guessing by the look of things at CVC we might get the NOA2 at the beginning of November! Quick question, does anyone know if an RFE can be sent separate from a NOA1 even if the NOA1 hard copy did not mention any issues?

Yes a RFE can be sent out anytime between NOA1 and NOA2. NOA1 means that they have just started looking at your petition. As they look at it and if they find any problems or missing documents they will send you a RFE.

Hi Everyone.

We are about to send in our Petition. What did everybody use for their proof of meeting in person within the 2 years of filing?

Our issue is that we don't have much proof besides Photos. We lived together from February 2013 till September 2013 and now i am back in Germany. I have letter from the post office with the change of adresse confirmation but i am not quite sure if that would be enough do you have any suggestions?

Thanks, Stefanie

Hello everyone! I guess I'm one of the newest members here! I just started my journey on October 12 by mailing my K-1 visa application. I have been reading a lot of good things here and I am very excited about my fiancé finally coming home. I pray that all goes well with ever case that comes up for review and that God will grant us all favor. Be blessed!

Hi Stephanie,

I used all our conversations we had on Yahoo Messenger, Whatsapp, Facebook, photos together with his family, hotel receipts, ticket stubs from boarding passes, luggage tags, etc. I hope this helps

Thank you so much for your fast response. The issue is that since we lived together we did not have to travel anywhere to se each other and unfortunately we do not have Hotel bookings with both our names it was either his or my name on the room, I am just getting worried not having enough proof.
