NVC Case Status "Ready" but DHL tracking "Clearance Event"

My case is employer based following to join (I-824) and is not eligible for EP. My case was shipped on Sep. 26, 2013 from NVC. When I checked the status on DHL, it shows the clearance event since Sep. 30.

Does anyone have and share the similar experience for E-type application?

Thanks.

I have no experience for your visa type

but

since it's a paper casefile, routing NVC to GUZ IV,

expect a 1 to 3 month wait at a China Customs Warehouse.

Why the delay, you ask? Consular Documents, by treaty with China, must wait.

That's it, that's all.

If you want SOLID tracking stuff, well, use the DoS Hotline, call once a week. When you learn of 'casefile opened' as casefile status, then GUZ IV actually has the casefile inside the Consolidated Consulate Compound, and eligible for further action (more background checks, scheduling, etc)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hi Darnell,

I just called the DOS hotline, and was told GUZ IV has my case and the casefile opened. I am confused about that since the DHL tracking is still "Clearance Event". I am going to call again to confirm it tomorrow.

Thanks

if the casefile is opened,

suggest to try to self-schedule on the ustraveldocs.com/cn site.

Can't say it'll work, but you need to register there anyway, make a profile and generate a document delivery coversheet.

When I register on the site, It always has the following error message. Do you have any idea for that? Thanks

Error:

Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted.

I can login in right now. It seems I can self-schedule the interview. Once I self-scheduled the interview, can it be confirmed immediately? Is there any paper or documents to send to me? Thanks

ya, you'll get stuff within 24 hours from ustraveldocs - there's an appointment confirmation letter/email . not a real / true P4, but it does confirm the date.

I was unable to schedule the interview until I receive the P4 email from US Consulate. It is an invitation letter from US Consulate. You also need that email for Medical Exam and at Interview. Hope it helps!

When I create the profile and follow the instruction in the appointment schedule, it doesn't have the step for interview date selection, but it created a PDF which shows trip purpose (Registration) and document delivery type and location. Do you have any ideal for that? Thanks

Hi Noahsmama,

I think I cannot schedule the interview either. When I go to Step 8, I got the error message "The Case ID that you have entered cannot be found". Did you get the same message for that?

Thanks

Registration = Document Delivery Cover Page, and this is handed in on interview day. It's used by CITIC Bank Courier (you should know that, by now) to deliver the visa packet from the IV Unit into the city where the applicant arrives, after interview day.

So, if you're not able to self-schedule, you need to wait on GUZ IV doing stuff. Wait, just wait.

Whilst waiting, email GUZ IV from their webform email page.
