Medical exam....don't go too far in advance!

My fiancee made the trip yesterday to Santo Domingo to do his medical exam and they turned him away because they said it's too far away from his interview (December 5th). So now he has to go back sometime after November 5th to do it.

it says the medical exam needs to be done 5 business days before the interview date.

You fellas might run across this, eventually.

the visa validity dates are tied into the medical exam date.

Get it early? 3 months early? that's 3 months you don't have, on the visa validity date range.

But from reading on VJ I have seen cases where something is found in the X-ray or during the exam that can delay the final Visa issuance 9 weeks or longer..... even if the Interview/Visa is approved.

So maybe somewhere in the middle?? My Fiancée did his about 28 days before.

The visa you get issued expires after 6 months. You have to use the visa (enter the USA) before it expires. They count 6 months from the day of the medical.
