Hello everyone

Well we have made it to the Embassy part of our process and now i am so confussed helpsmilie.gif and hope one of my VJ family members can help clears things up.

1. I, the sponser recieced an e-mail from the embassy saying "approved and has reached there office" etc...but my fiance did not get anything, is this normal? I forwared it to him so he would have the information to pay the fee and get an interview date. Will he be getting something in the mail?

2. I read on here from a member that DS 156, 156k and 230 is being replaced with DS 160 electroniclly, is this true for Ankara Embassy?

3. Is there a number that i can call from the USA to talk to someone at the Ankara Embassy to ask questions about the I-134 form? I have several questions that need to be answered to see if I wil need a Co-Sponser, I just to be on the safe side.

Thank you for any help you can offerbiggrin.png

My wife ,then fiancee, interviewed in Ankara, She received no communication from the Embassy, everything was sent to me in the US. After the notice that the Embassy received the packet, I received another email about 4 weeks later scheduling the interview 6 days later. We ended up rescheduling the interview, but other than that everything was pretty smooth.

~Moved from US Embassy/Consulate Discussion to Europe/Eurasia Regional Forum~

~Inquiry is embassy-specific~

(organizer hat off)

According to the VJ Embassy info for Ankara: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Turkey&cty=Ankara , their preferred method of communication is via email.

Hopefully, you will be get more focused responses in the regional forum, than the general embassy discussion forum.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

email email email! I got a response back to almost every email I sent them and I sent about maybe 5 or 6 or maybe even more within a period of 3 months :D the trick is, send it on a Sunday evening so it will be on the higher end of their inbox when they open it on Monday morning. Sometimes they take couple days to reply back which is understandable as Im sure they have thousands of emails to reply back to. but nothing longer than a week's wait time. That is the most I had to wait for a reply back as much as I can remember.

And yes there is a number on the ankara webiste but its very hard to get a hold of someone. FIrst, its only an hour's window they allow for immigration calls, two, its like their last hour in the office so they are either trying to rap up the days work or their minds have already left for the day, only the body remains and they dont want to reactive. or they are just being lazy about actually putting couple sentences together. Anyway, its hard to get someone one the phone. Email is the best option. In the subject put your case number ANK..... and that gets a bit more attention than perhaps other unnecessary emails they receive.

Good Luck

Thank you all for the information :)

Sarah86 congrats on finishing this part of the process, how exciting!!!!

Can you maybe answer my questions 1 and 2 if you know the answer, since you went thru the same Embassy we are going through?

Also can you please explain to me the process you did from the time you got the e mails stating they recieved your petition?

Do we need to wait for my fiance to get something in the mail or can we pay the fee and make an interview appointment?

How soon after can he go for the medical?

He went and got his police report yesterday and it was just a pape,r you said you had to go back and get something else, don't they just give it to you or do you have to ask?

was the interview hard and were they nice? Is there anything you would suggest for him to bring or have prepared for?

Thank you for any information you can give us it would be apprciatedrose.gif

Hello

You can go online to make your appointment. Follow the instructions for the K1 packet. Ankara does not mail out instructions. It is done by email only.

According to the State Department, form 160 will be used by all applicants worldwide. This change took place on October 7th

I checked the instructions on the Ankara web site. They have not been updated.

We are waiting for our instructions from the Embassy.

I hope this helps

Go to this website it show that you need the DS-160, this is what the Embassy sent me when i e-mailed them

http://photos.state.gov/libraries/turkey/5/instruction_packages/K%20chclist%20TR%20DS160.pdf

so i guess there is no other forms they have to send except I-134 and then of course photos, passport copy, birth certificate, police certificate, proof of relationship, and CSC Receipt. they want all of this before the interview.

Ankara has recently updated the instructions because when I checked today the only form we need is the DS-160.

I'm at the same stage as you. I just filled out the DS-160 today and my fiance is going to get his Police Certificate and Birth Certificate next week. Did you already mail in all of your documents?

Can we schedule an interview appointment before we send the documents?? Do you know how long it takes to get an interview date? Like if we start now, do you think we can get a December interview date?

Hi

We did the DS_160 early this week and have tried to schedule and interview appointment and pay the fee but there are no appointments available. We try like 6 times a day to get one.

My fiance has all the documents he needs and has to go on monday to get some of rhem translated. I will be sending him the I-134 when i get all the information i need for it. He will mail it all in as soon as he gets his interview date.

You need to include the CSC recipets in the packet so it has to be sent after you make you appointment and pay the fee

I am thinking that the next time the appointments open up it will be for January sometime because of the holidays.

I have heard that when someone reschedules their appointment it will be open for someone to take, but you have to be on at the right time to grab it so it is possiable it could be sooner if something opens up. I pray for that.....

If i see appointments open i will come on here and let you know and if you see anything open you do the same and hopefully we will get one in the early part of January.

How frustrating! Do they have to make each step of the process be so difficult?! I just tried online to schedule the appointment and I got the same message as you, that there are no appointments available at this time. But it offers no help or suggestions as to what to do next! I will keep trying and keep you posted. Good luck to you!!

I called the enbassy via skype and talked to someone and they said that i need to just keep trying everyday and that it usually opens up towards the end of the month. I hope we will be seeing some openings very soon. I need to book my flight to go to Turkey to be wth him. So close but yet so far, once we have the interview date i don't know if i will be relieved or more stressed just thinking about the date getting closer and closer. I just can't wait for this all to be over and we are together at last. Once he is here things will be soooooo much better dealing with the AOS process. It's just being apart that is so flippin hard as i am sure you will agree.tongue.png

Good luck to you too

I also scheduled our appointment for the week after yours! I'm glad it's scheduled but it's so far away! How did you see one that was only 21 days away? Is it possible if we call we can change it to an earlier date?

Hi

Wow that is great! I agree it does seen far away but it will go fast and it gives time to get all the paper work done and sent in and get the medical done and things translated etc.... It helps with the stress not having to rush. We want to make sure everything is done right so time is a good thing.

If there is a cancellation you can get one sooner I think that was what the 21 days was and of course the paperwork has to be in 15 days before and we would have never been able to do that so it was a bummer not to get that date. if cancellations come up i am not sure how or if we can get them since we already have appointments. Maybe if you cancell your appointment and try to reschedule you might get one closer but i would be afarid to do that and i think you would have to pay the fee again. I am not sure maybe there is someone who can answer that for us......

Anyway Congrats on getting an interview date

Keep in touch
