Expedited Passport return?

My fiancee has a business trip that she needs to attend about 2 weeks after her visa interview. She needs her passport for the business trip. Does anyone know if there is an expedited system for getting your passport back faster? Does she need to cancel her interview to ensure that she can go on the business trip? Given the uncertain times, it might be best to play it safe and cancel, right?

Doubtful. The only way to get it any faster would be to select the Guangzhou or other city's same day pickup once it's delivered location. It took us over 2 weeks to get the passport back even though we selected the same day pickup location in my Fiancee's hometown. It lists these same day pickup locations on the ustraveldocs site when you select a pickup location.

I suggest something else.

1. go to the interview, tell the Vice-Consul she needs to keep her passport for a business trip and then

2. when she returns, ship the passport via CITIC bank courier, back to the IV Unit - see
