silly old man. The body scrub, YER body scrubbed, is solely for your wife.

Just think how she endures it all, day to day, with an older fella who's not had any exfoliation, ever.

We have done a couple of estate/Yard sales and you are right it was fun

CVS Sunday is a big deal here. She spends hours getting ready. She often snags 45-60 bucks worth of stuff we don't need and ends up with them giving her money back

OT is cool

Estate sales tend to be far too expensive, because they're typically run by estate-sale companies that are trying to make a profit.

With the not-needed stuff from CVS, you can hold your own garage sale. I've scored stuff very cheaply indeed at CVS, but not quite gotten anything for free, no man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Well they give cash back bucks or something as you know..Now maybe it was because of that but i saw her get 45 dollars worth of stuff and get money back

To be honest it makes her happy and it cost very little. I just go sit in the corner and surf the net or play a game until she is done

I am ok with going anywhere that has a chair. Looks like more retailers would pick up on that.We have a DSW shoes here. It has about 5 big comfy leather chairs, always full of husbands

Our local Krogers just stoped doubling

She bagged four 50 dollar watches last week at Target for under ten bucks

The had a buy any jewelry item get another free with no limit. She bought a two dollar pair of ear rings and got the watch free.

Walmart mistakenly priced the Rachel Ray 132 dollar cook set at 26 dollars. We scores that also

Retailers screw up and the word spreads on the coupon groups

Have her school my fiancé on the coupon game. I'm the worst overpriced shopper in the world.

My whole goal in shopping is how fast I can exit the store.

I will tell her to get her in the groups when she gets here. It really helps IF you go get stuff you need.

She scored some tide the other day cheap..That was a big help.. I worked with cleaning industry chemist for years. Tide is really better than almost all.

In and out is because you are a dude. we go to the store, usually to get 3-4 items then get the buggy and buy whatever looks good and get irritated with the people parked in the middle of the aisle.

I tell you one Huge savings. will save you many hundreds per year.

Store Brands. Many times they are just as good. Store brand mayonnaise is almost 2 bucks a quart cheaper than brand. Same with ketchup, i use to think not having Heinz was a crisis. I tried the Kroger brand and i can hardly tell the difference

Nilla Vanilla Wafers 4.08 for an 11oz box

Kroger Brand- 1.89 and they are better

Hint - show up 2 or 3 hours before the estate sale is officially over - usually the company handling the estate sale marks down verbally. Or when you hit the door - ask 'What's the discount?'

I do this, learning it's better to buy a useless object at 70 percent off then full asking price ;)

I gotta tell you, though, the first time I 'heard this announcement' , I bought a fistful of gold hoop earrings at 60 percent off, thinking I had a win ;)

Excellent ideas, Brother D. -- often the estate-sale people volunteer "everything is 50% off," but I never jockey for more. We customers ought to, because we have the power and they're stuck with the stuff.

Saturday's ambitious garage-sale itinerary might be threatened by rain, sigh man.

Dear god Humanity

I hate fabric stores

When Mrs. T-B. got AP, she wanted to revisit Ecu. She left first; I was to join her later; we were to return together.

Two days before I was to go, she called. She adopted her innocent little-girl voice, and (I vividly pictured) the big brown puppy-dog eyes that meant that she was about to ask for something. Indeed, she began "Cariño... sometimes... sometimes..."

"Sometimes husbands what, Cariño?" I asked, rolling my eyes skyward in advance resignation of the incipient requirement that Was Not To Be Refused.

"Sometimes... husbands go to Sally Beauty Supply and buy their wives... a ponytail!" [in sad tone] "Mine got damaged."

"A ponytail," I answered weakly. "What kind of ponytail? Be exact, or I'll screw it up." She told me the precise quality and dimensions of the desired ponytail.

The next day after work, I entered a Sally Beauty Supply, hesitating uncertainly in the doorway. A saleslady asked, "May I help you, Sir?"

"Uh, well," I stammered, bewildered by the eyeful of alien products before me, "I've been instructed to come here by my wife. Can you please direct me to the Ponytail Department?"

She showed me a pegboard on which hung numerous ponytails of every description. Fortunately, the one of Mrs. T-B.'s precise description -- including the exact model number, which she'd memorized -- was there. I purchased it and hastily left, relieved to be free of the alien environment. The theme music from The Twilight Zone earwormed my brain. The ponytail was duly delivered to Ecu and they all lived happily ever after, si man.

The only experience worse than the above is to find one's presumably manly self standing in a crowded checkout line in Victoria's Secret, both fists full of 5-for-$25 ladies' underwear, while the wife publicly shouts, "Just stay there, don't move, I'll be there in a minute -- I want to find just one more body-lotion!" Sigh, man.
