I don't get how people could allow themselves to balloon up so much in size..

I think it's stress-eating. Stress can be countered by exercise, also.

At this stage, he needs a full medical checkup before doing anything else, IMO. It's a shame he's let his personal life bleed over into his work commitments, even with such a problem.

what kind o house is this?

Siding goes on the sides of the house, no roof climbing involved.

It is a house in which one section of roof is higher than another and in between those heights was some rotten siding.

oh - that's just easy-peasy to fix then.

You could toss the new bits up to him, unless he has to cut each piece, prior.

or, ####### it, he's a man. Just hold the ladder, quit yer complaining wink.png

I'm not in charge of firing him.....

But I'm sure gonna throw in my 2 cents.......

In the 8 years that I've known him, he has always been a selfish guy....

I know he has a lotta debt, too......

I don't pity him at all............

OMG yes.

Look familiar?

boss_tweed.jpg

Yahoo CEO, meh she's a woman.

Yes, the Dane is putting up siding, had to replace the trim boards around the roof (I know they have a name) and the plywood behind the siding. It is his first time as most of the houses in DK are made of brick, so it is taking him a while. He was a carpentry apprentice for a short short while when he was 18, though.

Is that a picture of U.S>. Grant?

William Howard Taft was a fat president. But that was long ago.

you named 2 out of 20,000......lol

plywood on house = sheathing

Trim around roof = eave

Small pieces of siding = shakes

I have much respect for a dude that can fix things on his own. 1 up for Tiny.

Don't worry, he'll get it done if he has to take the whole second floor off.

Interesting true story, back when Minneapolis MN started requiring sprinkler systems in buildings 4 stories or over, a local eccentric millionaire who owned many buildings had the 4th floor and above removed from all his buildings rather than add sprinklers.

He was truly a crazy old coot, and even though he was worth many millions of dollars, lived in one of his downtown slum buildings until his death.

It is Boss Tweed.

Silly New Yorker.

Have you not seen the million hour long history of NYC documentary?

Nah, there is another word for the wood that runs along the roof else than eaves. It'll come to me.

@Cary I have no doubt. I think he wishes he hadn't taken on this project though, he thought it would be quick! I don't have the heart to tell him that the whole shady side of the house looks like it might need the same.

I used 2 coffee cups for 2 cups of coffee this morning to drive Tiff nuts smile.png

and, I hate the Jr VP.......

he's a real S-bag......

Mrs. T-B. does this, and even after 5 years still doesn't comprehend that one can make the same cup, plate, or whatever last all week if one is a single male or wishes to retain the efficient processes thereof, sigh man.

She continues her pattern whereby if she looks at a spoon it becomes dirty and requires warshing, sigh man. Her excuse (batting eyelashes over puppy-dog eyes): "I have a trauma." When she was young, the family had one spoon, and they passed it around, wiped it off, ate with it, and repeated the process, gee man.

We can probably tell that I wrangled the dishes again tonight, sigh man.

Steveklar, is Junior the president of vice, or something? "S-bag" is reminiscent of "Hefty bag," which is reminiscent of some Bulwer-Lytton Contest opening line wherein Santa Claus fell off a roof and hit the pavement like a Hefty bag filled with vegetable soup (I must find this, search man*).

*Couldn't find it, no man.

1. I have supper for tonight all made and in the fridge (Shepherd’s Pie). Made it yesterday on my day off.

2. I’ve been having trouble managing working a weird schedule and the housework & cooking.

3. Any tips?

4. hubby is definitely helping out but they tend not to eat meals if I don’t cook ahead (or plan something simple) and I’m working over dinner.

1. Is Shepherd's Pie like a cowpie, huh man?

2. Quit job; hire maid; cook ahead for several days.

3. It sounds as though the service is lousy, so 10% or less for you, hmmmph man.

4. Quote Mrs. T-B.: "The maid has left. You have cans of stuff -- open them. I'm going shopping."
