Arose at o'dark-thirty on Saturday, zzz man. First two advertised GSs (garage sales) were nowhere to be found. Inauspicious start. Third one, however, featured some deep-pocket flannel bedsheets for $3; we swapped phone numbers to communicate later about the mysteriously missing second pillowcase.

Stopped without much hope at an ES (estate sale); found a Jos. A. Bank tie, Eddie Bauer jeans that fit perfectly, and a tall plastic canister for $4 total, whee man.

At yet another GS, got 3 plastic toy airplanes, a coloring-book, a magnetic puzzle (all for Mini-B.), and a brand-new duffel bag with makeup bag included, total $1, whoopee man.

At one GS, I didn't buy anything, but they had jewelry and a park across the street. I returned with the brood; Mrs. T-B. didn't buy anything, but Mini-B. had a grand time on the playground equipment, wee man.

The above goes to show that minimal initial expectations can yield pleasant results, see man.

Upon our return home, cat showed unusual interest in a corner, behind the item in which we found a live ratoncito (small mouse) -- third this week, squeak man. It met its maker shortly thereafter, grieve man.

After this, and a too-short siesta that was nevertheless overslept and resulted in a frantic dash to the dry-cleaners before closing, the lawn was mowed, ufff man. Macromolecules of cut grass and the first dead leaves of autumn emanated from the blown nose ('snot a lie, no man). Body wasn't as destroyed as usual -- nice weather, whee man. Turned approximately 12,783 clocks back an hour, man. Must empty dishwarsher, minister to cat, and prep for and go to bed to avail self of "extra" hour, zzz man.

Rant: The U.S. should be on Daylight Savings Time year-round, see man.
