1. Priced things lower than I knew we could get, advertised well, and had cleared out the junk before so I knew it was only sellable stuff left. We also didn't bother with the really high end stuff - paintings and another item we already have at Sotheby's. One of these other paintings might be in the Sotheby's range, so we will wait.

Yestereve after work, I drove straight to an outlying 'burb to investigate a Craigslist posting of patio furniture. That was too much (in number of pieces, size, & price), but I got a triangular-shaped metal shelf (the type that fits in corners) with 4 glass panes for $35 (talked down from $40). Sneaked this into the casa after Mrs. T-B. was zzz-ing, set it back up, and taped a note to each of the shelves, as follows:

Sorpresa [surprise]

Feliz aniversario [happy anniversary]

Te amo [i love you]

Carino [sweetheart]

To the fourth note, I added "clean this now" in Spanish, but I'm forgetting the Spanish.

Mrs. T-B. found it this morn and squealed with delight. Within seconds, she had it in a corner with various pictures of Mini-Bone on it. (No; she did not clean it first, no man.)

Asia is fluent in Polish

And probably in English (tho she doesn't have a chance to practice speaking, only writing and reading and she makes tons of mistakes).

Asia also can speak in German (tho she doesn't like this language at all, oj nie).

Years ago she could speak Russian, but now the whole knowledge is gone with the wind...

And she knows a little, really little bit of Spanish (tho she has the whole course on her laptop, but can't make herself to start learning it more).

So what we're hearing is that Asia has forgotten the only Asian language that she knew? This is false advertising, oj tak!

What is your English accent like -- newscaster English, NuhYawk/Nuh Joisey English, Alabama English, British English, North Carolinian English (= less a dialect than a throat-disease), or real (Texan) English, huh man?

I'm in the USA and I eat rice rice rice rice! When my wife and I go out for dinner and I ask her what she wants to eat the answer is always RICE.

Decades ago, when I lived in the Washington, DC area, I'd sometimes drive into the District to eat at a rather dirty yet pretty good Chinese restaurant. They had filthy, stained menus. When they finally reprinted them, the very first menu item was Wanton soup. I took one look at that and exclaimed, "I'll have 3 bowls, si man!"
