Cary, come over for dinner tomorrow. I'm making filet steak with sauteed mushrooms and goat cheese with roasted red potatoes and brussell sprouts.

That sounds like a great dinner, but I'm going to be dishing out candy to kids, and letting my wife scare them tomorrow. Would you believe I'm deathly allergic to mushrooms? I used to love them, and suddenly they started not tasting so good and I got an upset stomach whenever I ate them. Then I started breaking out in hives and having trouble breathing to. Turns out in my late 30's I developed a bunch of food allergies, mushrooms being the ones I'm most allergic to. Actually since my wife started feeding me pretty much only Filipino food, the allergies have been fading away. I actually think its from getting away from all the preservatives found in all the prepared foods us Americans tend to eat.

I'm in the USA and I eat rice rice rice rice! When my wife and I go out for dinner and I ask her what she wants to eat the answer is always RICE. I haven't eaten an American dinner in two weeks now. I'm thinking I need to eat a steak with potatoes this weekend.

Two weeks without potatoes???

No way I could live like that :D

Job is the place you must go to in order to make money for such luxuries like taxes, food and heat in the winter. Work is what you try to avoid doing while at said location.

Got it!

Thank you Professor! :)

Isn't your hubby coming over tomorrow?

Do you want to corrupt Cary? :D

Seriously, come to our house for dinner. If I serve the Dane anything other than a huge meat dish, he is always like "where is the dinner, no really, where?"

Probably. You're body is doing you a favor!

But mushrooms are so nice...

Mmmm mushrooms.

Move to Asia, after a while you'll discover you're addicted to rice. But yes sometimes I just gotta have some form of potatoes.

LOL for my wife its rice and viand. A meal is rice, viand is whatever you eat with it. But for my wife that means some form of meat or seafood. Even the vegetables she cooks must include meat. Still most of her caloric input is rice.

I know, I used to go buy a bunch of fresh mushrooms and saute them up with butter and wine, and that would be a meal by itself. Used to be I couldn't get enough mushrooms. But as the allergy to them came on, I started loosing my taste for them even before I knew I had the allergy.
