The professor will take him out to get some lechon. And Filipina hoochies biggrin.png

(Is that making fun)

I avoid the Filipina hoochies, those girls are dangerous! Or my wife would be dangerous to me if I was to be talking with the divorcee Filipina hoochies. Its a no won situation getting near them.

OK: When I named/butchered "Bahia de Caraquez," Mrs. T-B. nodded and said, "Bahia -- near Guayaquil. They talk pretty bad." When I said "Manabita," she said, "If you think my English is bad when I don't finish my words, theirs is worse -- forget it." So, that's settled, si ma[n].

Seriously for a fleeting moment: It fascinates me that Ecu natives carry their dialectical patterns from Spanish to English, gee man. I wonder if this applies to speakers of other languages, too?

Yep! I quite enjoy the way they talk, if only because it's what I learned Spanish from. They're really expressive, and talk with their hands a lot, too. It's fun to watch/listen to.

It must, I'm sure. Hubby also tries to directly translate Spanish phrases into English, which obviously doesn't work. Makes for some pretty entertaining exchanges between him and my family, though. laughing.gif

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

When my wife gets excited, she'll speak English words using her native sentence structure. Thats makes for some interesting attempts to understand her when she's overly excited. It happens less and less though, the longer she's been here.

OMG - I ran into a bevy of them at the waiting area during an infopass appointment at my local USCIS office. OMG - no. Just No.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

You've a lot more of them down in Texas than we do up here in Minnesota. My wife is friends with one of the local divorced Filipinas, who occasionally tries to encourage my wife to do negative things, luckily my wife figured out those ideas are not good advice.

Don't you like to dance on the thin ice of peril?

Taste the poisons of vice?

Climb the mountain of danger?

Freebase the spoon of a woman's scorn?

Plow the field of....um.....

Nope

I've watched my wife mow a lawn with one of these.
