TB, hubby is from Bahia de Caraquez in the Manabi province. Small little beach down, very warm, very low key. Missing it in this 36 degrer weather this morning.

Ah, I si man... given that I don't have a detailed map of Ecu (is there even one? Rand McNally or somewhere?), tell me where it is in relation to GYQ or wherever. Sorry for the geo-illiteracy, man si. Can people identify his hometown by listening to his dialect, huh man?

In anywhere Amazonian or coastal, I would be sweating like a puerco and all the native would look at me curiously, as in "What's wrong with the gringo, huh man?"

In areas north of Quito and certainly in Cuenca, I'd be walking around very comfortably in a regular long-sleeved shirt while all the natives were bundled up like Eskimals (did I spell that right?). Poetic justice, huh man?

I just realized that I can't stay away from work all week.....#######....

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, man.

omg I'd go crazy if I had that commute!

The craziness of an hour's commute depends. Heavy peak traffic with stop-&-go? Unimpeded rural highway? Bored constables lurking?

Some of the best advice that I ever heard was: Always live east of where you work. That way, the sun is behind you on both commutes.

Unfortunately, I live southwest of where I work, and the chiefly westward evening commute puts the sun directly in my eyes (under the visor) at this time of year. The only thing that I like about the upcoming time-change is that this would change, see man. However, darkness tends to conceal bored constables, sigh man.

oh boy o boy....what am I gonna do with the rest of the day......

fishing? too windy......

um....clean garage? ......

yea, may be tidy up my million tools......

how old of a Civic do you want? I'm very good friends with some execs at the DCH auto group.... (google them) Can get you into a Honda at a very honest deal, new and used. They're primarily in NJ.

I've been meaning to go car shopping. I turned in a car earlier this year, and I think the Yukon is about done.... But I dun wanna replace 2 cars in 1 year.....

Speaking of Cars and Gas, since I moved down here 3 months ago, gas has gone down nearly a dollar.

It's pretty freaking awesome.

Gas in canada, however has not moved.

Sucks for them.

Ok ok, let me say that it seems to have gone down SLIGHTLY since our montreal interview.

That was INSANE. It literally peaked the DAY we left for montreal to like 1.32/litre >=\

I hate my PT cruiser.

I wanted to get rid of it after (1) year, but I think it was just too soon to not end up with an unmanageable roll-over loan so now I'm aiming for next summer.

When I got my first car, a mustang, it needed a manifold.

My dad bought it, but hadn't put it in, so it sat in the back of my car for the longest time.

Everyone would see it and was like 'what's that' and i'm like 'that's my manifold' and they always said it sounded so dirty. >=\

And gas will continue to go down for the next 2 to 3 months. Beyond that I can't see.......

Don't worry, i'm sure your inner eye will start working again.

Honestly, I just want to see it at 299, then i'm good.

I wouldn't care if it jumped back up to around 3.60 again.

It's nice while it's lasting.

Its pretty painless. Shop around for your best price. When rates dropped so low I went through a refi and shaved 1.5% off my mortgage rate.
