Our greencard took longer than a couple of weeks, more like a couple of months and we ended up having to apply for the SS card. You can work once you've applied for the SS card (there is a page on the SS website that explains this and a note to employers). The Dane started working about 3 or 4 weeks before he got his number I believe. The visa in the passport with the stamp allows him to work, get a driver's license, etc.

Wait, so his visa in his passport that he has just received allows him to work. Is that what you're saying? I don't care about waiting as long as he can start working asap.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Did he already quit his job, give away all his #######, max out his credit cards and spent all his cash already?

He put in his notice at work, yes. Sucks because they then told him that they had put his name in for a good promotion.

Fail.

do you need a chat with a spousal visa specialist ?

Always.

translation error.

Instead, tell Alistair to scan everything that's not inside the sealed visa packet, and email the images to you.

Then you study , tell him what's what.

errata:

1. has 6 months (usually) to travel into USA on that visa.

2. once in the POE, gets a stamp that endorses the visa to be utilised as a 1 year green card

3. go to SSA office 13 days after POE, apply for SSN, then go back next day, get number.

That's it.

Oh thank god.

Learn Tantric Massage, occupy yer hands another way, and the complaints will cease.

I swear!

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

I did, she said stop that. She don't want the hands doing that, I have better parts for that.
