I feel naked and alone.

If anyone here were single, he'd probably rush to volunteer to remedy the second part of that, si man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The Saturday garage-saling (GS-ing) exceeded every expectation, whee man. The rain had stopped by the wee hours, so it was merely cold and windy. I headed to an area where the homeowners' association had promoted an HOA-wide GS day. Several individual addresses had been advertised, and I happened upon several others. Found something at almost every one, whee man.

Ended up with a huge saucepan for Mrs. T-B. to cook with or whack me with, for $1; 6 ties (4 designer); a dress-shirt, only the second of which I've ever found at a GS that has fit me (= tough size here), for $1; a designer bath towel with 2 hand-towels, for $2; 2 Dockers slacks in my exact tough size, for $3 total; and a piece of metal artwork for the hallway wall (Mrs. T-B.'s protestations notwithstanding, no man), for $2.

One of the ties was fiddy cents. The other 5, in combination with 2 new cans of my favorite shaving-cream, came to $14 raw price; I asked for a counteroffer and was told $12; I counter-counteroffered for $10, and this was accepted. This recalibrated each of the items (if my Algebra is correct, x+y=z, man) from $2 each to $1.4285714 each, or still $2 each and I got 2 of the 7 items free, man. I must immediately report this to my best pal, who's the CGE (Cheapest Gringo Ever) and an even better GS-negotiator than I, verily man.

What's more, Mrs. T-B. glanced at the ties after I'd laid them out on the kitchen table and not only didn't tell me to get them off of there, but said that they "looked good." I must later consult her in regard to which will go with the 5 shirts for the workweek ahead, si man.

I began the GS-ing quest at around 9 a.m. and was finished before 11 a.m., which yielded time to get the shirt and slacks to the cleaners, gee man.

Ergothuswithforthly, the Saturday haul in combination with Friday's haul have put me in the GS Haul of Fame, whoopee man.

In celebration, I shall empty the dishwarsher, minister to the vicious carnivore if she leaves our bed to come downstairs and apologizes for biting me after our afternoon nap, and prep for and go to bed, zzz man. The celebration shall continue on Sunday by virtue of 4 or 5 laundry loads to be warshed, thus reconfirming my title and prowess as Official Laundress of this thread, see man.
