So my day shift yesterday got turned into a 12:30-9:30 shift because one of the others wanted the evening off. Which gives me 3 close shifts this week. Hubby is sad. He misses me when I am gone in the evenings. I did get to check out a celebrity during said shift though - very thrilled to report that she was nice and acted like a normal person. She being Meg Ryan. :D Another good thing to come out of my close shifts is that the teen is starting to bond with hubby and talk with him and such.

Feeling homesick for the mountains and Canadian health care system. This HC being big business feels just way to weird for me. Trying to get our Health Insurance set-up is a PITA with the questioning phone calls starting to drive me up the wall.

Thanks everyone for the credit suggestions! I'll get on them this evening.

TB, I don't think they necessarily have to be Swedish to be sucas, that was just the example he gave me. I guess dirty blonde could be just rubias, but white blonde would be suca. or that's what I understood from it, anyways. Let me know what your wife says! I'm always interested in learning about those little differences.

Thank God it's Friday! Yay for getting to sleep in tomorrow.

Cool with meeting Meg Ryan. My brushes with the famous have always shown them to be just regular people as long as you act like they're regular people. But Meg Ryan, I might have to roll up my tongue afterwards if I met her.

I had really hoped when the ACA was passed that the parties would actually start doing something on healthcare reform and do something about us having the highest cost healthcare in the world with rather poor results for the amount of GDP spent. I guess time has shown that was pretty foolish to think.

Anyone want a free dog? He sheds a lot and attacks the vacuum cleaner.

What ever you do, do not put him on craigslist as a free to good home dog.

Why are you dumping the pooch?

Oh, I wouldn't really but he is driving me up a wall. At this point, a baby would be cleaner than this little sh*t.

Getting sick of hair everywhere I take it. Every time I foster a dog that sheds, I get reminded why I don't want a dog that sheds now.

Yeah, pretty much. He also doesn't listen to me (probably because I work so much) and has just ruined my sofa cushions by laying on top of them and breaking down the backs. I don't have the heart to kennel him, so let's hope Ali can shape him up.

Know any good products to remove hair from upholstery?

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Fire, but then you need new furniture. Seriously, my vacuum cleaner has an attachment that is great for removing hair on furniture. Its a beater brush driven by the vacuum's suction. Otherwise not much beats those tape on a roller devices. But the you burn through the tape in no time.

Or just plain packing tape.

My life greatly improved when our cat ran away. I loved the cuddly little critter, but couldn't stand the fur. Current dog has hair. Hair > fur and only the same amount of shedding that humans have.

I love dogs, but as I get older, I just don't want the work. We are all in awe that current dog is still holding on, but I don't think I want another especially if we are moving somewhere colder. Walking dog in winter at 6 am in 10 degree weather is not ideal.

My wife wants us to get another dog, but she doesn't take care of the dogs, I do. And I can agree the part I don't like is walking them when its 10 below zero outside.

Yeah, I wish I had let myself be suckered into buying the Dyson pet hair vacuum, but I wanted to fight against consumerism and support German engineering. Silly me.

I'm going to go stock up on those today.

Seriously! Sorry she ran away :( blessings in disguise I suppose.

I got lucky with our house. We have a big fenced-in backyard, so I just throw him outside in the winter. Then I walk him when it "warms up".

I use to use a thick hairbrush to comb the upholstery and carpets, it picks up hair really good.
