Sorry, man -- have to go through enough of those at the resale stores. One place (where I haven't been in a while) must have several hundred ties, seriously. While thumbing through the ghastly patterns (so many "golf" ties -- why, man?) and the mile-wide polyester refugees from the '70s, and obviously stained, overly wrinkled, or damaged specimens, I find likely candidates and pull them. I then inspect them in bright light for flaws, however tiny. If they pass, I try them on. The tall-man ties are too long for me, and many of the others are too short. The remainder become mine, whee man. The final step is to instruct the foreign or fuzzbrain cashieress to bag them separately, or to hand me a bag and let me bag 'em, because getting wrinkles out of silk* is a pain, gee man.

*One is never to iron silk ties. Rather, one is to hang them in the bathroom and let the steam from the shower straighten them out, really man.**

Also, if one travels with silk ties packed in a suitcase, the way to prevent wrinkles is to feed the short end into the back loop(s), really man.**

**I got these meaningful instructions from a men's-store clerk whom I consulted specifically for the purpose of getting such meaningful instructions, si man.

Rant: Every tie should have double loops in the back, not just the label loop. Secondary Rant: Every loop should be high enough on the back of the tie so that borderline-short ties can be tied to the proper length (tip at mid-belt level) and still have enough short end to tuck firmly into the loop, see man.

TBone, in response to your question: hubby says rubio, and to be honest I'd never heard "suco" until you posted it. Hubby says suco is more so used for platinum blondes - think white blonde swedes (swede = sueco, which turned into suco, or so he says).

On a different note, I loathe posting from my phone and not being able to edit my posts to fix my typos. Grrr.

We have to give you credit, Part Quatra.

I'll have to caucus with Mrs. T-B. about whether "suca" is a Swedish blonde or simply a blonde. In her hometown, there's only one blonde, and she's fake with it (albeit long-term), so I think that she qualifies all-in-one as either a rubia or a suca, si man.

Open a store credit card also. They'll approve anyone with no credit for 500 bucks, as long as you bought something.

Good idea, but ask if their credit records go to the reporting agencies -- some stores' cards don't. You want them to. Buy a little something every month, then pay it off in full before deadline.

Sidebar: For ease, or from anality, I pay my credit-card bills by rounding the total to the nearest dollar -- e.g., $873.44 becomes $874, which is what I write the check for. I learned by accident that this is one reason why my credit rating is so high, wow man.

Just within the month, I asked Capital One to issue a credit card in Mrs. T-B.'s name. It has her name on the card, and her account number is different from mine, but it's attached to my account. If I pay her bills on time (evil chortle), she'll soon have a positive credit record of her own. That way, she'll be fine once she gives me a permanent chicharron, ouch man.

Frank Statement (am I now T-Frank?): I am on here "early" tonight as a sort of cameo appearance. I need to go to bed ridiculously early (like well before midnight, which is normally the crown of the evening) in order to arise before o'dark-thirty to get to a garage sale by 7 a.m. (= still deep slumbertime by reasonable people's standards, zzz man) where purportedly for sale is an outdoor patio-umbrella that Mrs. T-B. wants. If I can get it at less than retail, it'll be worth it financially and also get her off my back about "decorating" the patio, sigh man. She also wants a corner-shelf-type item that the sellers had on the Craigslist ad, sigh man.

Presuming that both items are still available, this may require two trips in the T-B.-mobile, sigh man, and all before normal wake-up time and before a hectic-to-be Friday at work, scream man.

Saturday is saturated with community garage sales in the various 'burbs, whee man, but it's also supposed to rain heavily AGAIN this Saturday like last Saturday, drowned-ratman.

I need a new job, nowish. Getting paid diddly squat to work my butt of is getting old.

Current pet peeve: not having credit, but needing credit to do anything that would build credit. How the heck am I ever going to get credit if nobody will approve me for anything since I don't have any? Grumble grumble.

Reason #1 why I don't work is that we'd spend more right now for me to work than I'd earn.

Well, a lot of adults around here piggy back off their parents credit. Because I had high limit joint account with my mother, then I also was able to open high limit credit cards. I intentionally avoid doing that though because it is too tempting.

I do recommend Capital One and if you want to try a Target card. They are more willing to hand them out because they aren't standard credit cards, i.e. they can only be used in store if you get that type.

I'm not too big on store cards because they will nail you and ruin your credit if you are late with or miss a payment. Not only that but the interest rate is HIGH.

Comrade Buckwheat seems to have a very strong sense of right/wrong decency. I personally hope that we can get it calibrated into a compatible understanding of the VJ system.

While acknowledging Sister Nola's cautions, I still recommend store credit cards as a way to build credit. As she implies, pay the bill in full in ample time, every month. No need to charge much at all; just keep it active and keep paying it off.
