So, I was emailed for an interview (A&F) on skype or phone...recruiter did not show up, so i contact her she says she needs to reschedule so we do and she doesn't show up. I email her saying it is absolutely fine if she does not want to do the interview but would be nice to let me know so I don't wait on her on skype...she reschedules and......does not show up. I think it is safe to say she is no longer interested. I thought sending a simple email saying they don't need to interview me would have been easier...sigh.

In other news, I am posting our wedding outfits just because..

Llamas! I love llamas!

Wait, you applied for A&F?!

Don't be surprised that they flaked out. Flaky, sh*tty company all around.

*high five on llamas !! Yah, my husband made a joke about wearing matching llama t-shirts and i was on it like white on rice lol He said he didn't have the heart to say no to that. biggrin.png

Yah, that was the only translator job (Italian) that I had found here in Columbus. I wanted to get some job for the time being and look for something else in the meantime. Thanks for the heads up on A&F, had no idea.

I think things like that are going to be hard to come by there.

is possible that recruiter is busy busy busy, handling stuff for the seasonal worker hiring push.

Your hubs sounds awesome.

And good luck with the job search! Didn't mean to be a downer on that one, but I have faith that you will find something that fits you perfectly!

hey - i never posit they are great or bad, as a company,

but

I will posit that a translator job isn't seasonal for the christmas rush.

No, but it says something about a company when their HR department can't even keep an interview appointment. To blow off three separate appointments is ridiculous.

I would posit that, under those circumstances, one would not even want to waste their time with people like that.

lol i dunno tho

That is the thing...I am on the fence....part of me wants to say..."done with these people" but seeing as though there is not much when it comes to translators and how much we need money...

Certainly not something I intended to do in the future but for now, would work. Especially since I work in international higher education and we would most likely have to move to another state for that kind of job.

I think it would take 2-3 years, but also allow me to finish my other degree at the same time. It would be a little while until I start and I wonder if I could test out of maybe the first class or two. We'll have to see. I think if I get to an advanced level in Danish than it wouldn't be a far leap http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Norwegian_Bokm%C3%A5l_and_Standard_Danish

My Danish is actually progressing now, go figure, right?

I get it, I totally do and I feel for you. How many languages do you speak?
