"Company man" stands ready for thread duty, si man.

Forgot to relate Saturday's doings. Took Mrs. T-B., Mini-B., & Mama T-B. across town in the Mrs.-T-B.-mobile for a great lunch at a barbecue restaurant, courtesy of two gift-cards. The bill plus appropriate tip wiped out both perfectly, $i man. Went from there to our favorite thrift-shop, where I found a 2-piece deep-pockets bedsheet set made by Better Homes & Gardens, one of the best. Also scored a flannel 4-piece deep-pockets queen set by Sonoma, obviously straight from its original packaging. The sheets were labeled "full" by the factory, but the store caught this and labeled them "queen," which was obvious to me upon open inspection. Scored some thick warshcloths (Texas spelling) and a thick bathmat (as though we need any more of those).

On drive home, Mini-B. & Mrs. T-B. fell asleep in the Mrs.-T-B.-mobile; stopped at favorite gas station in bad 'hood and filled for $2.899/gal.; returned Mama T-B. to her casa; went home. Mini-B. was so wiped that he didn't stir when Mrs. T-B. extricated him from the Mrs.-T-B.-mobile. Detagged purchases and threw sheets into warshing-machine with highly perfumed detergent. Took hourlong nap; had to awaken to take last week's shirts to cleaners before latter closed. At supermarket, bought Mrs. T-B. some chocolate cake by request, some vitamins & fish oil mysteriously priced way down, and a gallon of Blue Bell ice cream (Dutch chocolate, slurp man). Dryered (cool new verb) bedsheets; started second load to warsh kitchen rags & remaining new purchases. Will still be 6 loads to warsh on Sunday, sigh man. [i[Note: Thread-Laundress report complete, whee man.[/i]

Presciently ran dishwarsher on Friday night, seer man, so tonight's mandatory load was quite manageable, whee man. Fed insistent cat a pouch of salmon-glop after announcing, per routine, the origin of the set of bowls from which she would be eating this next week, miu man (one of the Ecuador sets). Cat, per routine, piggishly slurped up all the sauce but ate very little of the contents, sigh man. Watched late TV news while devouring top layer of Blue Bell, slurp man. Will curse filthy, rotten, lying bathroom scale tonight and tomorrow morn, grrr man.

Note to Self + Business Typhoons: We could make Many bucks -- at least a hunnerd fiddy -- by producing and mass-selling pouches of cat-glop sauce by itself, without the glop, si man. Self? Steveklar? Brother D?

Tbone... ####### is with the many?

Dunno why they (Steve, T-B) are convinced that I can't count...

And that after 1 & 2 there is "many" in Polish numerical system.

Why? I have no idea...

I'm sure it's supposed to be funny, but slowly it's becoming of not being funny anymore (for me), but I'm letting them having their fun wink.png

I looked up the Polish numerical system and it is rather complex! I thought the Danish way of doing numbers was silly (and so does the rest of Scandinavia, but it is much much less complex than Polish numbering):

50halv-tred-s(ind-s-tyve) half-third-t(imes-of-twenty)

60tre-s(ind-s-tyve) three-t(imes-of-twenty)

70halv-fjerd-s(ind-s-tyve) half-fourth-t(imes-of-twenty)

80fir-s(ind-s-tyve) four-t(imes-of-twenty)

90halv-fem-s(ind-s-tyve) half-fifth-t(imes-of-twenty)

http://www.olestig.dk/dansk/numbers.html

It is based on the old twenty county, I guess kind of like the French 80.

I don't see what the big deal about the counting is in Polish because it seems rather straight forward except for the numerical forms that precede what object you are talking about.

Nah, I don't think they digged that deep, Nola ;)

If I remember correctly, I was asked by T-B once how much he spent during his garage sale.

So I counted and answered.

And when he asked how much he saved, I said that he saved many dollars (without giving any proper number ;) ).

So he decided that in Poland we can count from zero through many, not numbers (to infinity) :D
