Yes legos are very very expensive. Ugh.

Thanks for the well wishes btw.

Break a leg :)

I have a serious rant about how expensive legos are. We already have a ton, a lot of them hand me downs from me, but the little one is getting this this year (not from us), but I couldn't believe how expensive it was:

Speaking from my experience, the little toe (or the wee, wee, wee toe) is never quite the same after breakage. After a while you just get used to it feeling different, and that different feeling becomes the new normal feeling.

Bummer, but thanks for the benefit (?) of your experience.

Smashed my big toe with hubs old printer. Put it on my desk but apparently not far enough. Toenail is black...twice the size it should be. No insurance until jan 1. #### my life.

Bummer, ouch man. Ice, ice, ice for the first 48 hours. After that, ice won't help with swelling.

Well when I get done with law school I will be that 1% that makes the 99% look good.

You already make the 99% look good, Miss D.!

Not sure if this qualifies as a Fri.-13th matter, but...

I took the T-B.-mobile (AKA The Jalopy, The Squealmobile, etc.) and made it to the dealership in ample time.

It took a couple of hours before they could get it on a rack, bore man. The service advisor took me out to see, man. Power-steering fluid was visibly dripping down from the rack gear, sigh man. The mechanic, who was right there, said that replacing it now would probably save the power-steering pump. The absence of fluid was causing the squealing. He and the advisor also said that the rest of the Squealmobile's underbelly looked great, especially for one with 84,050 miles on it (Asia, that's "many").

The advisor priced the job. The part alone is $600, plus 4.9 hours' labor, = $1,261 before tax. (Asia, that's Mucho, Many, and Too-Mucho.) I had a coupon for fiddy dollah off (Asia, that's Not-Enough-Mucho), and the advisor offered to throw in a free 4-wheel alignment (worth $116 -- Asia, "mucho") & tyre (British spelling) rotation (worth whatever). The two front tyres are both visibly bad, see man. He tried to sell me tyres, but I said that I'd get them at Sears; meanwhile, we'll put the better rear tyres up front, si man.

Called my mechanic who had replaced the serpentine belt on Monday; he said that the quote was about par for the course and that he couldn't beat it, no and sigh man. He encouraged me to have them do it, considering that the Squealmobile was already up on the rack.

The mechanic and advisor were confident that they could finish the job today; the big issue was whether they could get the part in timely fashion. I haven't heard from them since, so perhaps that's a good sign.

Therefore, I've had a day at the casa. Mrs. T-B. took Mini-B. for a much-needed haircut and to the mall (where of course she spent Mucho on $1.99 items), so I stayed home, ate a canned lunch, and took a 90-minute siesta. Surprisingly, the cat didn't join me; maybe she was thrown by my taking said siesta in the regular bedroom instead of the spare bedroom.

I wish to heaven that I'd bought the GM Extended Warranty up to 100,000 miles. Retrospection is everything, re-see man.

And I wanna get Tiffany a new dewalt 20v tool set smile.png

Remember -- Black & Decker is the more affordable version of DeWalt, si man.

Asia, "20v" = "many v," oj tak.

Speaking of which, my B&D blow-leafer came last week and I haven't even opened the box yet, no man.

Went out for lunch to get sushi and the tire iron brok on car and wheel stuck to the right. Thank God I was in parking lot and not driving down 288 at 60 miles an hour. Goodness. I have had a traumatic day for reals. I need my woobie.
