British me nope, French Canadian, my fathers side came from France. But I'm the odd ball to begin with, lost pretty much all my french and one of the pickiest eaters on earth. I like vinegar on a few things just not crazy with it.

Hi all and happy saturday. Awesome christmas tree pictures everyone ! My EAD had been approved ! Just waiting on it to be mailed out. On Monday the job search begins full on....excel sheet ready, cover letter template done and goal of at least 10 applications a day set. Wish me luck, I will need it.

Also, my husband made me laugh quite a bit couple of days ago...he was upset, wouldn't talk about it for a day and then finally he told me why he was pouty:

"You prefer the dog to me. You only try not to inconvenience me or be in my way but with the dog...you flat out refuse to".

Oh that was a good day. I told him that indeed he was right - if we were in a burning building, I would pick up the dog and run out and leave him there.

It is quite cold around here. Brrr.

I want a haircut, found the perfect one...that will be the first thing I do with a pay check - get hair cut and food.

1- How old is your house? New houses often have cracks and sagging doors for first few years

2- How many stories? New construction is usually fairly light weight, 2 story house is about 50-60 lbs per square foot

3-and what type of foundation (brick, block, mortarless, concrete)?

4-is the foundation exposed to lots of water?

5-Is there a basement to the house? does the foundation protrude 2 or 3 feet from the ground?

6-What king of soil doe your house sit on (Sandy, clay, rocky)? Foundation in sandy soil will shift a lot

7-does your house sit on a slope? changing landscape can shift foundation

8-What type of construction (2x4, 2x6, brick, block) ? and what kind of joists?

9-How bad is the slope? (This requires a little ingenuity to measure) use a long fish tank tube water level and string.

10-are the vertical walls leaning? 3/8 inch per 4 foot run is acceptable

11- Are there Vertical/ horizontal/ diagonal cracks in the foundation? Vertical cracks are "the best" cracks to have.

12-Take a pic of the cracks that you see and post........

Used to have some friends that ran a business in which they lifted houses and stabilized them on bedrock if they started shifting. It was an interesting process. They said the popularity of houses next to golf courses were their bread and butter. LOL

I must be late for the first trimester mood swing, but boy my husband may not make it this final stretch. I actually don't think I've tried a mango other then the yukky stuff in that fruit mix my husband gets. At this point in time nothing looks good, tastes good, and everything smells terrible. It would make a great diet, but I'm sure my Doctor wouldn't like it.

I actually woke up feeling better, too bad it didn't last.

Just finished loading the dishwarsher for the mandatory Saturday-night run. I can't believe how much dirty stuff Mrs. T-B. threw in there, willy-nilly, because Mama T-B. was coming over and Mrs. T-B. was afraid of criticism. This was the most ever. The kitchen counter was so crammed with other stuff that there wasn't a square inch of space to put the hidden stuff so that it could be reorganized. There wasn't even room in the machine for two cat bowls and my weekly coffee cup, no man. Must run a second load tonight after this one finishes, sigh man.

Happy Pearl Harbor Day, and great way to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of our actual "wedding" party.

Add to this a severe whining sound coming from the engine of the T-B.-mobile, consistent with rpm. The water pump was replaced a couple of months ago at a place that I shouldn't have gone to. Unless it was installed poorly (this isn't out of the picture), I fear a belt or tensioner. It probably isn't the alternator, because that was OK when the new battery was put in a month ago. Any ideas from you shade-tree mechanics, huh man?

Despite the above rant, Mrs. T-B. remains -- for now -- my final wife, see man.

Helpful Hint: When one buys ice cream during the winter and wishes for it to remain mostly frozen, one should put it in the car trunk during transport home instead of inside the heated car interior, si man. (I have never done this, no man, but thought that I would proffer it as a seemingly excellent idea, si man.)
