Sorry about the fever. Upstairs floors are sloping more than ever; new cracks in two front corners of master bedroom; entry door from garage to house doesn't stay shut (= longest symptom); wood frame atop garage separating.

Can't stay up much longer, so will await wisdom tomorrow, thanks man.

Have a couple of GSs scheduled for Saturday, but they might be canceled because of cold. Have one whole-house ES (estate sale), time only 8a-noon and "no early birds." Weird, and probably overpriced unless they've priced stuff so low that it will all sell during that time.

Cat-ministry, prep, bed, zzz man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Accordingly, the usual 6 loads became 4, gee man. (Asia, in the Polish arithmetical system, "the usual many loads became many, gee man.")

Nope. Mr. T-B. In Polish arithmetical system we too have numbers instead of "many"! laughing.gif

Morning, everybody! Did you miss me?

I'm sure you didn't :D

Finally I have my laptop back... But that was its last fixing... I'm supposed to buy a new one within a couple of next weeks... Too bad I'm still unsure what to get lol.

1- How old is your house? New houses often have cracks and sagging doors for first few years

2- How many stories? New construction is usually fairly light weight, 2 story house is about 50-60 lbs per square foot

3-and what type of foundation (brick, block, mortarless, concrete)?

4-is the foundation exposed to lots of water?

5-Is there a basement to the house? does the foundation protrude 2 or 3 feet from the ground?

6-What king of soil doe your house sit on (Sandy, clay, rocky)? Foundation in sandy soil will shift a lot

7-does your house sit on a slope? changing landscape can shift foundation

8-What type of construction (2x4, 2x6, brick, block) ? and what kind of joists?

9-How bad is the slope? (This requires a little ingenuity to measure) use a long fish tank tube water level and string.

10-are the vertical walls leaning? 3/8 inch per 4 foot run is acceptable

11- Are there Vertical/ horizontal/ diagonal cracks in the foundation? Vertical cracks are "the best" cracks to have.

12-Take a pic of the cracks that you see and post........

Don't worry. There's little that "can't be fixed" with a little epoxy.....Epoxies made for California houses are the best. designed to reinforce earthquake-prone areas.

thanks Tark.....fi-fiddy........

nice questions, but all attributed to subsidence in the Houston area.

Known Problem. Known Fix. Known Contractors. Most give livetime warranties, price ranges from 6K to 35K, depending on foundation type.

basement? hahahaha - 3 to 4 feet above sea level - no way.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Used to have some friends that ran a business in which they lifted houses and stabilized them on bedrock if they started shifting. It was an interesting process. They said the popularity of houses next to golf courses were their bread and butter. LOL

Uh... the infamous First Trimester, shudder man? Do you want mangoes -- very hard, and very green? I have none, but Steveklar can get you a Costco chicken, cluck man.

I must be late for the first trimester mood swing, but boy my husband may not make it this final stretch. I actually don't think I've tried a mango other then the yukky stuff in that fruit mix my husband gets. At this point in time nothing looks good, tastes good, and everything smells terrible. It would make a great diet, but I'm sure my Doctor wouldn't like it.

I actually woke up feeling better, too bad it didn't last.

I like all the lights too, bad the tree lighting was canceled, hopefully the bad weather passes soon.

Ours wasn't as bad as they thought, not sure about the rest of the State though.

Glad that you're clear, Clearasil man.

Whatever Mrs. T-B. might have used in Ecu, I've Americanized her to the point that she'll accept or even ask for real medicine, whee man. When left to her own devices, she tends to drink hot tea, perhaps with honey, sweet man.

Recap: On Thursday night, Mini-B. had a fever of 102 (in Poland, "many"), but he (and we) all slept pretty well, zzz man. On Friday morn, he was down to 99 (in Poland, "many"), and the fever didn't return.

Update: Mrs. T-B. took him to the doc on Fri. afternoon; the doc prescribed more antibiotic and said that Mini-B. had two things either at once or consecutively. His lungs are clear, and the only thing jumping out is a sinus infection. This eve, he was his usual loud, rambunctious little self. It's still way too early to guess whether or not he has asthma. Mrs. T-B. sounded a lot more relaxed about things when she called after the doc appointment.

Gracias: Gracias for everyone's well-wishes and concern, si man, and English-only outside the regional forums, oj tak.

Glad to see everyone is on the mend.
