yup. I am not in the Dallas area anymore after Monday.

It was a nice run, 3.5 years.

Will I build the same thing in Houston? No, my wife doesn't understand how much fun I had with cooking in Dallas, so I just won't even try.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

OK I can see that my "black Friday" thread is a lost cause..... All I see there are printers, washing machines, clothes..... No exciting manly stuff like sporting goods, TVs, camo stuff, tires, no mention of any sort of power tools..... No resemblance of a masculine thread.....

I almost bought some tyres (British spelling preferred, man). Might still, si man.

Thought about buying a cordless blow-leafer, but must do more research, see man.

I am back (obviously) after (1) the all-day road trip Wednesday, (B) the Day of Turkeys, and (iii) Viernes Negro, si man.

(1) Had a wonderful-yet-exhausting trip, whee and zzz, man, and got some great resale bargains for <$25 total, $i man.

(B) Ate turkey w/relatives; postponed nap in ill-advised favor of heading to Toys R Us; took one look at 400 people lined up, turned and went to CVS Drug (but 30% off too-high prices = still too much); returned home to semisuccessfully nap; went out later to T R U and could find only 2 of 5 desired items; spent full hour in checkout line (which, in fairness, moved quite quickly, man). Cashier failed to ring one item for which I had to return on...

(iii) Viernes Negro, si man. Was allowed to sleep till 10:35a by They Who Must Be Obeyed; was compelled to get self coherent while Mrs. T-B. went to Kohl's for boots; had Man Time with Mini-B. for 3 hours, including eating French fries with ketchup and getting it all over ourselves. Upon Mrs. T-B.'s return, took nap with cat. Retrieved item from T R U; made other quick stop; went to Sears where bought an extra-firm pillow and a GPS, both deeply marked down; went to CVS in better humor and paid $18.86 of a raw $44+ bill, whee man. Ate fancy dinner (ha); had more Man Time with Mini-B. while Mrs. T-B. returned her Size 7.5 & 8.5 boots for a consistent pair. Thought about buying tyres (British spelling) at Sears Auto but didn't, si and no man.

Saturday, there are actually a couple of GSs (perhaps more; haven't looked, si and no man). Mrs. T-B. rolled eyes but probably won't be able to stop us, see and no man.

Sunday, must fulfill our duty as Official Thread-Laundress, whee man.

This Viernes Negro wasn't as fun as either of the last two, no man. Unless one intends to be serious by being somewhere right at opening at o'dark-thirty, zzz man, and not waiting in line to be let in, no man, the worth of the experience is dubious, see man.

Obviously he hasn't been acquainted with dewalt or makita........

Ah well, you can buy that dewalt for me instead smile.png

Maybe it is Makita, they all sound the same to me and I'm too lazy to go downstairs and check. If it isn't American, well, whatever....

No TVs or stuff because we don't need it, kwim? I did stock up on deeply discounted legos, other stuff at 40-50% off, and my total off at Osh Kosh came to 80% because they let me stack a coupon. Good deal.

I dislike the vasoconstrictor properties of psuedophedrine - it makes my whole body cramp up so I can't sleep.

uhm, nope. It's all compartmentalized.

That's OK, Steve, I know you not remember much, even when I write it here wink.png

let's see - what's what ?

--sold off my partnership in Liverpool, UK.

--sold off my flat in Liverpool, UK.

--sold my company in Irving

--got the domicile in Irving converted to a rent-house, and it's rented

--gots 12 properties in Detroit for my wife to manage

--gots the house in Houston

--matriculating in Houston next term, expect to be in Houston about 4 years

--gots the acreage in Houston for the next organic micro-farm, and it's staffed already, greenhouses built and stuff is growing, marketing already started as well for the first crop.

We both planned for a life in Houston, together, with minimal forays into Detroit for stuff. Anything I did in the Dallas Area was mostly just biding time till I could sell my company for a tidy sum. We never planned to do anything together in the Dallas Area; my krewe of Chinese Aunties in the area helped fill my time and keep me on the straight and narrow. Can you imagine? At any time, I had at least 4 chaperones making sure I not chase skirt.

With my wife at my side, I not need the chaperones anymore. We needed, required, and I got, a quiet place in Houston where the sounds made from the wild monkey sex wasn't going to disturb the neighbors.

So yeah, all compartmentalized, as it's a different life with my wife by my side.

Now if I was the skipper. I'd go visit them.....once every now and then.....

Ok, may be once every 3 years....

Ok, maybe once a decade....

Ok, maybe I'd think of them.....

Once in a while.....

When I can spare a moment.....

If I can remember to think of them....
