I had a 4 year old tell me to screw off the other day at work

You should've pulled her by the ear to the supervising "parent" and given the latter the what-for, see man.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I think that's ST-P......

Yesterday, the following dialogue occurred, gee man:

Mrs. T-B.: Do we have any beeg bahpoROOB?

T-B.: Do we have any what?!

Mrs. T-B.: Beeg bahpoROOB.

T-B. [cleaning ears]: WHAT?!

Mrs. T-B. [enunciating more carefully, with less patience]: Beeg bah-poh-ROOB!

T-B.: What the [censored] are you saying?

Mrs. T-B.: The stuff for Mini-B. He's coughing. We're supposed to put it on his feet under his socks.

T-B.: Is this some medicinal stuff?

Mrs. T-B.: Si.

[Further investigation revealed that the subject substance was Vicks VapoRub, si and sigh man. T-B. & Mrs. T-B. weakly laugh.]

T-B.: "I bought you cheap," Cariño [sweetheart].

Mrs. T-B.: Quit eating cheap -- you're getting fat.

T-B. [rolling eyes]: Si, Cariño.

Mrs. T-B.: Do we have any beeg bahpoROOB?

T-B.: NO. Just give him some real medicine -- you're a gringa now and should know this.

Mrs. T-B.: I gave him some. He's still coughing.

T-B.: Then you didn't give him enough. Give him more.

Mrs. T-B.: I don't want to give him too much.

T-B.: Give him enough. This was on your ciudadania [citizenship] test, Cariño.

Mrs. T-B. [looking blank, same as at that time]: It was?

T-B.: Yes! The governor of Texas, Perry Ellis, was most known for medicating his children!

Mrs. T-B. [looking confused]: I don't remember that.

T-B.: You're lucky that they didn't ask you that during your interview.

Mrs. T-B.: I don't remember what they asked me.

T-B.: Well, remember what I told you about your nieces & nephews: medicate medicate medicate!

[Mrs. T-B. looks blank but with a flicker of memory.]

T-B.: You know that when a gringo offers you medicine or suggests that you take it, it's true love, si?

Mrs. T-B. [weakly]: Si.

T-B.: Well, you're a gringa now, right?

Mrs. T-B. [weakly]: Si.

T-B.: Well, give your son an adequate amount of medicine and forget this Beeg BahpoROOB stuff.

[T-B. returns to VJ posting; Mrs. T-B. presumably complies.]

I just don't want to make it awkward and If I stay out it will be obviously and I am not good with people being nasty to me so if i have a choice..I will go out for a walk or stay in the room. Walk seems better.

That's actually sad :(

How they can just send their child to their mother, because they simply can't handle the child?

I know...that was my whole point since the beginning. I saw the kid laying in the guest room crying because his mother just dropped him off and left. And even before that...whenever I came to visit, my then, bf we spent whole day babysitting them so I got a first hand knowledge on how their home is.....I actually thought about asking them if I can adopt 2 of them lol.

Either way, they now have taken their son back and decided to medicate him so he is not so "hyperactive". I have to say ....I never had a problem with him just treated the child with some respect and never once yelled at him and he was never mean to me or evil as they seem to think he is. He was harder to handle and I could see that but it was not his fault. Sigh :)

Happy monday to everyone ! Dogs are happily asleep on the bed, no barking. Cannot wait to watch Masters of Sex today.

the mom was like 10 feet away. She walked over when it was apparent her child wasn't going to come over to her (5 or so mins later), picked up the toy and asked her child if she would like a cookie to get her away from the toy aisle. Ai-yai yai...

I'm very happy that my daughter is very well behaved. Except she has yet to learn not to interrupt.....

I see it was little chatter here today.
