thanks :) Sorry, I brought this in here just needed some opinions, thanks again !

Now off to watch dracula

No, don't be sorry. Outsiders looking in can offer different perspectives.....that's what this thread is for.......

You very foolish woman......

I apologize. Here are some sort of, kind of, punchline type silly things to make up for it >

As I said before, I never repeat myself.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Where there's a will, I want to be in it.

How come "abbreviated" is such a long word?

Doesn't expecting the unexpected make the unexpected become the expected?

Quiet, I can't see....

The gowanus is the only body of water in the USA where you can throw a bicycle in, and it won't sink smile.png

There's no life in the gowanus.

You very foolish woman...

Lies, there are definitely mutant creatures there.

And you really don't have to travel to the gowanus canal to catch an STD.....I can give you some if you'd like smile.png

Errrmm, are you propositioning me?

So, because the Dane and I are obviously impatient people, I got my Christmas/birthday present today - a Kitchenaid Artisan Mixer. The Williams Sonoma outlet by my house had them for way cheaper than Amazon or anywhere else, so alas I had to have it now, right? I made soda bread with it tonight. Yum!

The GS-ing on Saturday at least met expectations if not exceeded them, exceed man. Awoke at pre-o'dark-thirty, prepped self, and exited house at 7:45 (approx. 20 min. earlier than usual). Fortunately, warm weather enabled wearing of flipflops, which was almost certainly the chief contributor to ambulatory mobility. Had this week been last week weather-wise, no way, no man.

Besides the 8 GSs on the planned route, found some mass subdivision sales, plus several opportunistic GSs (road signs only). It was threatening rain all morning. Was just wrapping up the last GS at around 10:40 when it began to sprinkle lustily. Had to return to hand off the GPS to Mrs. T-B., so the timing was perfect, ticktock man.

The GS haul was as follows: Two huge jars (gallon-sized?), $1 ea.; a nice metal letter-holder, .25 (half-price); a Tide Detergent toy car for Mini-B., $1 (.50 off); 4 shirts for Mini-B., $2 total (half-price); a soup-ladle for Mrs. T-B., .10 (no discount, which left us gnashing our teeth angrily); 2 hand-towels, .50 total; a box of jelly-jars with lids, $1 (half-price); & the prize of them all -- a never-worn Croft & Barrow windbreaker jacket for $8 (orig. asking price $15). Got that from a nice old couple who had displayed just a few items amidst their subdivision sale. He had 3 similar, never-worn jackets available -- one was too short, the other had an uncomfortable feel, and this one (which is sold in Dillard's for probably $60) was perfect, si man. They readily accepted the offer of $8. Found no 24-oz. Thermoses new in box, no man.

Total round-trip was approx. 62 miles, drive man. Whatever of the jars Mrs. T-B. doesn't want, will give them to pal who's a piano-tuner/technician and uses such containers to contain his spare parts, si man.

We shall hold our Thread Accountress, Asia, accountable for tallying the total expenditures above. However, this could cause trouble, for it is alleged that the mathematical system in Poland consists of these numbers:

1, and

2, and

"many."

We feel like a thriftily successful (and successfully thrifty) gringo, man.

They only had magenta, light pink, white, red, and black so I went with white on the advice of those here because it would go with any kitchen and heavens forbid the Dane baked something he wouldn't feel girly using a white one. I do like the white, though, it looks nice.

I was kind of lucky when marrying the Dane, despite being his first girlfriend and the first person to live with him, we seem to get on just fine. I don't know if that is the Danish mentality or just because I've been married before and I recognize that whatever short comings he has are workable or whatever else. I can tell you along the long myriad of problems I had with husband #1, he could never stand up to his mother, he couldn't progress into manhood, was uncomfortable in the roll of provider, shut down any time you tried to talk to him about anything, etc.

To me, those aren't fixable or tolerable things, but being terribly messy is just fine. It is all about what you think is acceptable or fixable, though.

your ex husband sounds just like mine to the T. It is a big deal for me but I am trying to tell myself that once we move out of here it will get better... We shall see :)

yah, I see how white would work well. I would probably end up getting all of the colors (or want to anyways) and match up to the mood lol

Should I introduce you two? My ex-MIL is fluent in Czech. ;)

I think the Dane is thinking of getting me one of the pasta attachments for Valentine's Day or some other holiday. Ooooohhhhh.

The soda bread was huge hit http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Grandma-McAndrews-Irish-Soda-Bread/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=irish%20soda%20bread&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page

I started my rugbrød starter yesterday (it takes 5 days of fun to get there) and my starter for Anchor bread is already going. I think tonight we'll probably put in the anchor bread for tomorrow's lunch.
