Hasenpfeffer !

Nur Deutsch außerhalb der regionalen Foren, ja Mann.

I like dogs

One of my favorite bumper-stickers is: I LOVE ANIMALS (they're delicious).

Oh I've had my share of shaving my dogs' butts.....

Stick a fork in them. Then cook them. Then eat them. See, man?

my new boots. That was painful and bloody.

This morn (meaning Thursday morn), was racing into my home office to grab something from the closet. Right foot tripped over cat's litterbox ramp; left foot slammed into full, rock-hard bag of World's Best Cat Litter (which really is the best). We perhaps screamed, but sallied onward in prep to go to work.

Foot began barking during walk from parking-lot to train, and more from train to office. Complicating matters was the wearing of extremely stylish yet tapered-toward-the-toes $5 GS shoes (which had begun life far more expensively). Discomfort increased during workday. Around 3:30, found icepack; applied to socked foot; little effect. At 4:30, went downstairs to emergency department. Was admitted. De-socked foot; pinkie toe looked like plump, well-done cocktail weenie, see and sigh man. Emergency doc ordered x-rays. Radiologist reported busted toe (small chip, but ne'ertheless broken). Doc strapped defective digit to contiguous digit with silk tape, decreeing ice for 48 hours, anti-inflammatory killpainers, elevation, and minimal bear-weighting. Nurse got a postop shoe (like a less-ugly Birkenstock with Velcro) and installed it. Crutches were offered, but agreement was made to instead pawn them and swallow the ticket. Discharge from emergency care at 6:30. Went back up and checked out of work. Got volunteer to wheelchair us as far as possible; loudly sang butchered version of "Looks like we got us a con-voy" most of way. Made it to car; drove home.

Insult-to-Injury Department: Got permission from Mrs. T-B. to take nap. Laid down for same, inviting cat to join. Cat cuddled up to upper chest, purring like high-decibel motorboat, kneading our arm with long-unmanicured claws. After 20 minutes, cat tired of same; exited from under sheet; installed self outside human butt and began lustily & slurpily grooming self. Bumped cat with butt to no avail. Badly wanted to fart on cat, but was productionless. After 20 minutes, looked defeatedly at alarm clock. Cat temporarily finished grooming and energetically brushed cheek on bandaged toes. Positional adjustments incurred further brush-cheekings from cat. Alarm rang; turned the ####### off; got up. Cat fell asleep on bed.

Will probably stay home from work on Friday. Appealing GS schedule on Saturday endangered. Lower-back muscles already threatening spazzing as result of altered gait. Shall nuke self with killpainers in prep for bed. English-only outside the regional forums, oj tak. Sigh, man.

Asia, you could try and ASUS or ACER laptop as well. The important part of electronics is that you get what you pay for. Laptops are very hard (almost impossible) to upgrade vs a desktop and they cost more for what you get. If you're looking for a little bit of portability try a tablet instead and use a desktop at home.

Thakns, Nikki! :)

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting a desktop, but maybe I should just get my broken one fixed instead of getting a new one.

I don't like tablets. Laptops/notebooks are much more convenient.

BTW - I'm thinking about getting a laptop without an internal DVD drive and just get an external DVD drive. I use DVD drive to burn dvds and I don't do it every day, so maybe I could get a better laptop without it, and just have a portable one, just in case.

What do you think about it?

My Swedish cookbook also has recipes for reindeer meat. Can you imagine serving that to some kid in America? Nightmares.

Serve up the reindeer with Rudolf playing on TV. Include a red clown nose on the serving tray.

good.gif thank you !! Shall do tomorrow !

Beef stew mmmm I am starting to miss meat (rabbit included), if the dog keeps yapping as much as he is..I might stew him up.

I have friends that could supply a recipe for that dog. My wife doesn't like our current foster dog, he leaves too much hair around the house. And what really got to her was all the air he left in her car when we went to an adoption event with our rescue group. Now when ever she sees a bunch of hair on the couch or her clothes, she looks at him and says Lechon!

Technically this is baboy lechon. But canine lechon is made the same way.

So I don't belong to your club... I don't drink coffee. At all. Never did.

Sorry Asia, you are no longer allowed in America. We got enough wacked out eat and drink healthy nuts here. Now if you had said you don't drink coffee because it dilutes the beer, you'd have gotten a waiver.

I've busted my small toe more times than I can even recall now. I no longer bother going to the doctor, I just tape it to the toe next to it and try to be careful for a while. First time I broke it, I was a youthly man and always in a hurry. As such, I never waited to step the last steps, I leaped the last 3 to 4 steps. Everytime the toe started feeling good, ie no longer in pain, I'd forget and leap the last steps again. Intense agony would resume to remind me I had a broken toe, and now it will take that much longer to heal completely. After a few months of this, I was finally broken of the habit of leaping the last few steps, and no longer felt as youthly si man.

Yep, since the first time I broke one as a kid - my dad was just like tape it, it'll be fine, I've broken two more. The orthopedic surgeon and I were already too tight back then with my at least yearly bone breaking, so no need to further burden her with my presence.

Big toe is a different story obviously.

I actually just did it to my right little toe about 3 weeks ago. It was bed time and I was bringing the foster dog to the kennel, and I caught the thing on the trash can. Gave a loud yell of pain, finished getting the dog in the kennel, hobbled to bed, and then took a look. Yep that toe should not be bent at that angle, hobbled to the CR (bathroom to most Americans) and grabbed the tape, hobbled back to bed, where sleepy wife was complaining I wasn't in bed yet, and taped the toe to the adjacent toe. Which makes me wonder why we have a name for the big toe and the little toe, but neglect to give the other's names?
