I am going to get hated on but ....macbook pro ? sleepy.gif

I won't hate you ;)

It was suggested to me as well. But I'm so used to Windows and all its functions/software/files or whatever, that I don't want to change and learn new system.

Yes, I know you can install Windows on macbook, but the price of macbook itself is too high to me.

Apple Laptop - get the extended Apple Care plan.

Mine finally died after many years of being dropped out of my truck, dropped off my bed, having liquids spilled into it. Great screen and good design. I'm in the market for another (my third). I also like the seamlessness of sharing across the macbook, ipad, ipod, and iphone.

I got a Sony laptop that I bought last year so I'd have a backup as the other one was getting old and the screen is ####### and it hurts my eyes to look for extended periods. Can't even read a book or too much on it. Awful, but cheap enough and powerful enough to run games.

Thanks for the suggestions! :)

if it was only about using a new system, I would say there is nothing to worry about. It really is very customer friendly. The price I can agree is a bit too high and if you are on some sort of a budget...eh.

How are dells ? I have been looking at gaming laptops and what not ...seems like they are not bad....

My HP was good for almost 4 years. But it's been worse in the last 1.5 year.

What brands you wouldn't have today?

Yeah, I've been told that asking about the best brand is like asking about the best car. It all depends on what you want from it...

I'm wondering about Samsung or Sony Vaio or something.

I have a list of what should my laptop contain (is this the right word for this?), but it's hard to find one that would contain all things I want smile.png

This article might help you. I like HP, I have not been happy with Toshiba the past few years. But even with HP, I do not like their low end products. I only deal with higher end laptops with my work, so if you're not going with high end machine, my opinion is rather worthless. The cheapest I spend on a laptop is about $1200, and usually over $2000. If you're looking to spend less, I'd look at the current reviews and particularly look at how well they're supported in your area. You'll want both phone support, and a good service center in case something breaks.

When you say your laptop has been worse the past 1.5 years, what do you mean? And were you aware the typical lifespan of a laptop is 2 to 3 years? When you get 4 years, you've done good. Back when Toshiba was still making good machines, I bought exclusively Toshiba. I have a 10 year old Toshiba that still works great. Its not terribly fast today, but it gets the job done.

Yeah, Dell was suggested to me as well, so gonna check them too.

Tho I'm picky on how the new laptop should look like, and all the pro laptops (aka more powerful) look likda ugly, with black colouring and all...

You couldn't give me a Dell computer.

Here is my complaint about Dell. Dell will put out some fine products. But they also will put out some total pieces of garbage. If you get the good product you'll be fine. Get one of the pieces of #######, and your laptop will spend most of its warranty period at Dell, being returned to you repeated without being fixed. Once the warranty runs out, you'll still have a broken laptop. Dell never owns up to making a defective product and makes it right with the customer. If it was just a fluke failure of a part, they'll fix it, but they've released so many bad models over the years that just cannot be repaired because the design was wrong from the day of release.
