The family is fine. They live way south in the Philippines, so there was really no issues in their area, other than dark clouds, rain and windier than normal.

That's good to hear

She refused to believe they would be safe until the storm passed over. Even showing her on a map didn't help, as she appears to have a smooth spot on the brain when understanding maps would be stored

I believed it had been resolved. We talked about it (for over a year) he agreed with everything and now it is a problem for him, apparently because he did not want to end up without me so he decided to agree with it. Now he will no longer talk to me about it and continues saying he is fine that it is no problem and we are on the same page.

It will come up again I am sure so until then...topic is dormant.

Women ultimately control what's going to happen on that issue. Guys that do not understand that, are only fooling themselves.

Red Cross CEO makes 1 million a year.

Salvation Army CEO makes 20,000, plus 100k expenses or so. The guy is like a monk......

Red Cross has a Philippines branch, that can accept donations directly. They are the boots on the ground doing the most good. http://www.redcross.org.ph/donate

Food just started getting there yesterday. The vast majority in the region have gone three days with no food. Food and water to these people is really the biggest issue right now.

with over 1100 islands in the PI, you'd think there'd be a food cache and a fleet o boats to move the food, somewhere. Sure, it's a big f'ing typhoon, but ####### ? all folk are strung out, waiting for the next monthly remittance from an OFW ? grrr.
