Hey guys....anyone out there that recently got approved from AP? Are u still waiting on ur Visa?

Cairo embassy called my fiancé on August 21, 2013. Told him congratulations, your AP is over & you've been approved. We just need u to retake ur TB exam b/c it expired. So, they sent him his passport...he got the TB, finally got the results and mailed them back with his passport.

They rcvd it all back on Sept. 2. Case updated but still shows AP status. Then updated both dates to Sept. 12 - but still shows AP. No other updates since then.

He still doesn't have his Visa.

They told him he'd have it in 10-15 days after they rcvd his TB & passport.

Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Anyone still waiting on their visa from the Cairo embassy for a fiancé visa??

Thx guys!!

I am in the same exact situation! We got a call on Sept. 3 telling us our case was approved and that my fiance needs to retake and submit new medical exam results and police report. He told them not to send his passport and he did it without it (the medical facility remembered him). He submitted it on the Sept 14 and they received it on the 15th. Both dates on CEAC say September 15th, 2013 (created and updated). I called DOS and was told that we were still in AP. cray5ol.gif

No updates either and still waiting. Its beyond frustrating to be in this process for over 19 months (in AP since January 10, 2013) and still counting!crying.gif

strong-always-- it is def beyond frustrating!! :(

It is refreshing to see that it's not just our case that's sitting still like this......why is this taking soooo long?? Yeah, we called the embassy, they refuse to tty....so we sent the email & we got the same 'ol generic reply....blah blah ur in ap.

we see that online....I don't want to be told that & that's not my question. We were told we r not in ap. sooooo, how much longer b4 the visa is sent?

If they would tell us this last step takes 2-3 months, then we wouldn't be so crazy. We would expect this. Instead, the Only honest time frame that was given is the process time for the NVC to the embassy.

Is there anybody out there that was in this situation & u finally rcvd ur visa? Please shed some light on our dark dark tunnel.

((Positive Vibes to a Better tomorrow))

ayman-rina---- OMG :(

This is horrible!!!!! Your ap is over & u r waiting on ur visa since march???

Or are u still in ap?

I'm in utter SHOCK!

M&K ----- you guys are unique and lucky. Congratulations that ur torture will soon be over!! Sincerely!

I know there will b good news soon for us

....but emailing the embassy is pointless cause our status still shows AP - even though that's not our current status. So all they do is look up our case and we get a generic email that our case is in AP.

Pathetic!!

Our hands are tied. There's nothing at all we can do but wait. And my congressman was NO help either. :(

That's what makes this so frustrating.

We were Lied to about the final processing time & we can't even get a valid update :(

I have almost the same + my case is more confusing,

I had my interview on 2-JAN-13 and my case went to Administrative Processing.

I received an email from the embassy asking for renewed TB test on Sep 10 followed by a phone call on Sep 18 asking for the same (renewed medical & passport), they confirmed over the phone that my case is completed and my visa is ready . . she even was asking if I will be able to travel to the US by end of Dec before the expiration of my medical otherwise I need to do the full medical test again (I did already).

I had to fly to Egypt (I live in Dubai) to get my medical done, the medical results delivered to the embassy on Sep 23 and my passport delivered on Sep 25 (after I'm back to Dubai).

I saw that my case got update on Sep 23, 25 & 26 (all with Administrative Processing status)

then one more update on Sep 26 (with Issued status) with the message saying:

"Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted."

then more updates on Sep 29 & 30 while still in "Issued" status.

Till now I didn't get my passport, i sent the embassy multiple emails asking for the status, as a reply to one of my emails I get a reply "Please note that your visa has been issued and you will receive your passport soon"

Till here it's fine, the passport is delayed though . . they already confirmed over the phone that it takes 1-2 weeks max.

I tried to call DHL to check if they received my passport . . somehow I was able to talk to DHL guys inside the embassy, the guy was very helpful and asked me to call back in an hour until he checks my case with the embassy . . . he checked and told me that my passport is still in the embassy as they didn't receive my clearance yet . . . . .

I tried to call the visa center in the US to ask about my case as I'm unable to talk with anyone from the embassy and the surprise that they advised that my case is still under Administrative Processing.

I called again, talked to another agent and got the same reply Administrative Processing. they confirmed that my case is not completed yet and that there is no visa printed on my passport . . . .

I sent en email again to the embassy asking for the status . . I got a reply today that there are more procedures required before sending out the passport.

Till now I can see my case as "Issued" on CEAC website.

Because of that I missed that Eid holiday, I had a booking for tomorrow to Egypt and I had to cancel it as I cannot leave Dubai without a passport.

I'm very confused now and I don't know what is the exact status of my case . . anyone faced the same????

mahmoud-82 --- I understand the confusion!! We are always told one thing and another thing happens. I'm sorry u r missing the feast & celebration.... It's good that ur status at least changed from AP to Issued. No one else has indicated this has happened to them. But there are quite a few of us in the same boat. So, I'm sure someone will come along & be able to shed light on ur situation.

Maybe all if us will start seeing movement after the week long holiday.

I hope it goes fine and get my passport after the holidays. . I'm not sure having "Issued" status while being under Administrative Processing is a good sign or a sign to worry from :S

I'll keep you updated with the progress . . keep us updated with your progress as well plz

Let's hope the best to all of us . . .
