My wife had her GC approved at our AOS interview on 1/15/13. A few months ago we noticed that resident since status was 1/15/12 not 1/15/13. I have been trying to make an InfoPass appointment for the last three months with no luck. We are going to visit her family over Christmas. I want to get the card fixed before we leave in December.

I have filled out the I-90.

I understand that since it is a USCIS mistake there will be no fee.

Here are my questions:

1. Where do I send the I-90 and original green card to?

2. How long will it take to get a replacement card?

Thanks in advance.

yes you send the original green card make copies of card and form and proof of real date ( to document that it is their error ) it will take about 4 months typically and there is no way to be sure that the new card won't have a new error ( it took us 3 times to get a corrected card from them without a new error )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

That's not good if we plan to travel in December. We got our original card in like 10 days, why would it take 4 months for a replacement? thanks.

The tend to sit on them We got some story about having to wait for funding I guess they can only pay for so many screw ups a quarter. You can get a stamp in the passport to travel with

How do I get the stamp if I can't get an InfoPass appointment? Thanks.

On the web at www.uscis.gov or call National Customer Service Center

(NCSC) at 1.800.375.5283

I am not sure if you can go out of area there are appointments available out in San Bernardino

I tried:

Santa Ana

Riverside Los Angeles

San Bernardino

Pomona

All say the same,

At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later.

I tried 3 zip codes for San Bernardino with no luck. I've been trying to get an appt in Santa Ana or L.A. for the last 3 months, I obviously can't spend all day but I try a couple of times a day. A little frustrating to say the least!

Just before I posted I tried SB and it let me get t the page for an appointment Are they limiting them by zip codes ? You live somewhere with too many immigrants.

Not really, Huntignton Beach doesn't have that many. However, our office is in Santa Ana which has a very high immigrant population. And SB didn't have any appointments when I tried. But, Chula Vista (which is right next to the border) had a lot. Coincidentally I have be in San Diego on business the same day so it works out perfect. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
