Police: Rail commuters on phones didn't notice gun

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A man flashed a gun several times on a crowded commuter train in San Francisco, but passengers were so absorbed in their phones and tablets they didn't notice until he randomly shot and killed a university student, authorities said.

Security video footage showed the gunman pull out the .45-caliber pistol, raise it and point it across the aisle before putting it back against his side, authorities told the San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1crPYQc ) in a story on Monday.

The man drew the gun several more times and once wiped his nose with the hand holding the weapon.

"These weren't concealed movements — the gun is very clear," District Attorney George Gascon said. "These people are in very close proximity with him, and nobody sees this. They're just so engrossed, texting and reading and whatnot. They're completely oblivious of their surroundings."

Authorities declined a request by The Associated Press for the surveillance footage, citing an ongoing investigation.

One thing I've learned on this site is that only liberals would not notice a gun. Conservative would immediately notice the gun, admire it, take pictures with it, and then whip out their own to compare.

I have better situational awareness than most people. I am not tied to a cell phone24/7 or other devices.many people feel they need to use their free time traveling. SF is one of the most liberal cities in the United States. I doubt very few people in that photo if it was taken in SF were not of the liberal mindset.

I know comprehension isn't your strong point so I'll try to take it slow

The Patriot has made it known he doens't like Obama. I've had this conversation with him before, his reasons stem from his policies, not his skin color. He still addresses him as the President, Obama, or Potus. He gives respect to the office, and even the man as his position asks for it. Not like the folks who can't even say his name without shaking, or calling him boy, monkey, and god knows what else.
