Need Help In Trying To Provide Primary Evidence and Secondary Evidence

Hi there guys,

My fiancée and I are in the process of sending our I-129F package and this site has been incredible help!

Followed the guidelines to a T but now I am worried about the evidence of meeting and our relationship that we are sending.

Claude and I met in Singapore and he was on a student's visa back then, we rarely left the country and spent all our time in Singapore.

Primary evidence requires that we submit airplane tickets, hotel receipts, train tickets etc.

Thing is, we never really left the country because we were both studying in Singapore. So we don't have any of that!

Which means we don't have primary evidence cray5ol.gif

We've printed out many photos of us (names and place written at the back of each photo) as a couple, with friends, with family, photos of our engagement day and the ring. We even photocopied a scrap/photobook I made for him for our 1st Anniversary that has tons of photos of us as a couple.

Is there any couple who has been in the same situation as us? Is overloading secondary evidence okay?

Claude does have his US passport that has the Singapore Visa and multiple re-entry chops to Singapore.....I wonder if that will help?

(not really sure because I don't really leave Singapore so it's not like the dates coincide or anything)

Will Skype conversations or Facebook messaging help?

Any thoughts guys?

We're about to send the package off tomorrow so any help would be lovely...trying to avoid RFEs heheh

Yes, the entry stamps are a good way of proving he entered the country. Here are some other suggestions:

- Credit card/bank statements showing purchases he made in Singapore

- If he was on a student visa, did he have a Singapore residence (like a dorm room or a rental apt? Did he retain any letters addressed to him at his Singapore residence?

- Did he receive any letters from the local school he was enrolled in, e.g. an acceptance letter?

You can "frontload" but the other stuff like chats and facebook messages are probably more useful at the embassy stage.

Im thinking you could use bank/credit card statements to show transactions or cash withdrawals at the same locations if applicable? Where was your fiancé living? Is his name on any lease agreement, bills or any records of him living and studying in Singapore should work same way as if he would be to prove he was travelling there.

It is not where I breathe but where I love that I live.

Thank you so much for the replies!

My fiancee was living in a condo in Singapore. They had a very laissez faire attitude towards rental so no documents. We also cancelled all his bank cards in Singapore and did a major spring clean before he left for the States for his job.
At that time we didn't consider the Fiance Visa so no thought was put into saving such documents :(

Wished we had thought of keeping those letters.

But I will try to get school records and whatnot.

Is the possibility of getting a RFE insanely high if we simply rely on photos?

If you simply rely on photos, yes, you're likely to get an RFE. You should submit the entry stamps from his passport as well. Good luck! :)

Technically you only have to have met within the last 2 years and show an ongoing relationship, there is good information in the guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

Passport stamps and photos together should meet the first requirement, send as much secondary evidence as you have and keep evidence of an ongoing relationship going forward. Also, do send with your package a letter of intent to marry, originals, from both of you, a sample can be found here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples

Welcome to the journey and best wishes!

To add to the other comments, I would suggest being very detailed in your answer to Question 34.a. in the I-129F form. You'd have to state the dates you first met (if not roughly), how you met (in class, on campus etc.), how often you saw each other or if you have been living together, the places you've visited together and how you have been keeping in touch. If the both of you have taken classes together, get at least, unofficial copies of your individual transcripts to show that.

All the best!

Yes your Skype and Facebook messages do help. I copied and paste all my Skype conversations but not word for word, but to show dates and times on and off. same as Facebook, I had over 9000 conversation on FB from 2011 till present, I edited it down to 200 pages for the 3 years and put all conversations in a folder to show all types of communication between us including Yahoo Email, Yahoo Messenger, KIK messenger, What's App messenger. Have all passport entry stamps photocopied , keep all plane tickets/ boarding passes etc. You should be ok. My RFE was just a certified signed and seal divorce document that I need to send them since my photo copy had no seal on it to verify it was a court document. Good Luck.
