I called NVC I was kinda expecting them to be closed because of the government shut down but instead they were actually there. We submitted the last of our documentation in the beginning of August. Had to complete the online application beginning of Sept and was told 30 days more. His police report expires end of this month so I called to find out what was going on and to my utter amazement I heard the words I have been waiting so long to hear " your case was complete on Sept 27th you are just waiting for your interview to be scheduled in Lagos now" OMG finally thank God now we are finally to the interview. Granted alot of the wait was him getting his passport but still it is almost over now. I cant believe it...

Hey - congrats on the case complete.

I say another 8 to 9 weeks , maybe 11, for the interview .

I suggest you ask your husband to get a new police report sometime this month.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

sad.png Really Darnell you think it will be that long for the interview. That makes me really sad I was hoping he would be home for our anniversary in December. I did already know that he would have to get a police report. But either way it should be over soon so I will stay positive we have waited this long we will make it another 11 weeks.

you might get lucky, but -

there are tons of folk ahead of you, had case completes in September, that haven't been scheduled yet. Well, perhaps not tons, but you might want to ask a NVC Supervisor which 'round of scheduling' your casefile will get into.

I do hope you get lucky, really !

I suggest you get a fresh police report. The embassy doesn't care when things were submitted to NVC, but rather that their dates are valid at the time of the interview. If you get scheduled for a November interview, and your police report expires in October, you will get put into AP or denied.
