Thanks everyone :D

Is it normal for NSC to mail notices out a day later? The case two digits ahead of mine has literally just changed to RFE status, also dated yesterday...

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

First of all, Congratulations!!!

Never thought about checking neighboring cases. The number prior to ours was sent to NVC yesterday (4/7).

The rest in a two digit neighborhood are still on initial review

I am really happy for all the approvals, but what bothers me is that there are case from September that haven't been approved yet and then November cases that are already being approved apparently and October approvals are definitely all over the place. I was hoping since I have a PD of 10/1 I'd be on the earlier end, but it doesn't look like it's happening, although I am keeping up hope for some good news this week. I'm sure this is dependent on many factors, such as where the case was transferred to and what stack the person who is processing picked up that day, but it is really annoying to me! I wish they would proceed in order....

I think it's because USCIS is very disorganized so they often process cases randomly. Yes, USCIS is a disaster! LOL! :ranting:

Of course, some people get lucky and others get not so lucky. Lucky folks got transferred to CSC and unlucky ones went to NSC and TSC. I don't know about VSC though. Life isn't fair, indeed.

My PD is 10/4 and I'm still waiting! Where is my darn approval email? I'm going to have to start drinking and smoking if I don't get my NOA2 this week.

Hey guys, do you know what happens after the approval? What is the procedure; they call you for an interview? How long does this whole thing usually take? One more thing, did you also send I129F after I130? Does the I129F help at all? Kristi

Hi Kristi!

So what you want to do is look at this thread, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/488577-nvc-filers-april-2014/ and read up on what everyone is up to, post I-130 approval. Especially, look at this: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process which really lays it out for you, step by step.

I did also send I-129f after I-130. There were a few people recently whose I129s were also approved, but mine was not... presumably it will be closed as soon as I start doing anything with my I130 at NVC. I don't know if there is any correlation between the people who get approved quickly after transfer and whether or not they filed a 129f, but I can tell you that I did, and I did get approved quite quickly. Maybe it's just because they had 2 copies of all the documents and didn't have to wait in line at the photocopier! So who knows if it helps at all.

There are quite a few steps between approval and interview. After all, you haven't actually applied for the visa yet. So far, all we've done is petitioned for permission to apply for the visa. That's what they are granting at the I130 approval stage. Now you go to NVC to actually apply for the visa.

On the upside, the longest part of the "waiting and not being able to do anything about it" is over, once you're approved.

Read the NVC thread and wiki, and then if you have any other questions, post them in the NVC thread and someone will answer.

Yes, we got our RFE notice at very early in the morning of Monday. Obviously it had been processed on Friday but notice came in the next business day.

On a side note, why can't tier 2 guys just tell you what the RFE is? We never received NOA1 hard copy, we requested another copy of NOA1 and didn't receive that either. Confirmed the address they have on file and it's correct. It sucks to wait for the snail mail. I hope this time we receive the damn mail.

Assuming the beneficiary is not put into AP, this is true. This might not be a good assumption for people from some countries, like Egypt, to make though.

I guess that makes sense. We got our notification at 8AM central US time, probably when they were just getting into the office.

Do you get problems usually with your mail or is it just with USCIS?

Yes, you're right. I should have appended: "at least for now... Barring AP." That usually happens after the interview, though, doesn't it? OP is probably going to get to go ahead with at least the NVC process as normal, right?

Read the NVC thread and wiki, and then if you have any other questions, post them in the NVC thread and someone will answer.

Thanks a lot for your time!
