I was also transferred to NSC.

My initial PD was Oct 4th as well. However, on the letter I got from them today, the PD date is blank and the receipt date is noted as Oct 7th, like yours.

Like a few of the others transferred to NSC, I also got my initial transfer notice on March 11th.

Thanks

Hi everyone,

Received our hard copy of the transfer notice in the mail today. For some reason, our receipt date was changed from Oct 4 to Oct 7th now? Anyone else have experience with their receipt date changing? And our PD date is blank on the transfer notice...

Here's hoping for some faster service at NSC!!!

If I don't hear anything in a few weeks, I might contact one of the senator's office reps who is in charge of the immigration issues for constituents. I was in touch the woman late last year when I tried to expedite and didn't get accepted (they were willing to try again from their office, but I decided against it because I didn't think there'd be a different outcome from USCIS). But the rep there was really helpful (I don't think their office has too much action...Vermont is not highly populated!) and I wonder if they would know anything about what's going in that particular service center because they are also in Vermont and deal with immigration.

Is your spouse from Egypt? If so, I remember some from a different group getting his/her application expedited because of the political situation there. I wonder if you got unlucky when you requested to get your application expedited. It might be worth trying it again?

Hey guys, I just checked my online case status on USCIS website just to see if anything changed (out of curiosity) and I noticed this message -

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Initial Review

On March 17, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I received my transfer notice on the 15th. And now I'm just questioning why there're talking about my Alien Registration Number? I don't even use it anymore, since I'm a citizen now. Part of me wants to believe that it's a good thing because at least someone's probably touching my case & may be working on it & that's probably why I'm seeing changes as I check the case status. But I also worry, what if it's some dumbo who is making a mess of my case...I'd like to think positive though...anyways...let me know if you've any thought about my case update..

Thanks

Bomzy4ever,

USCIS is referring to the beneficiary's ARN. I noticed you are also at NSC, so this is good news for all of us at NSC. If you read my latest post, september had an approval today which occurred 10 days after the change of ARN notice. Of course, it may also imply that you may be getting and RFE, however I think that NSC is going for the low hanging fruit.

If you decide to show up at their office, go with lots of coffee and donuts tongue.png Probably that will make them stay in bit longer

A coffee shop (such as Starbucks or Tim Hortons) should be inside of NSC, VSC, and TSC. headbonk.gif

All employees working at NSC, VSC, and TSC should drink at least 5 cups a day so they can process immigration applications faster. rofl.gif
