Today I got this on the official USCIS webiste

Initial Review

On March 11, 2014, we transferred your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, to your local USCIS Office for further processing. The new office has jurisdiction over your case and will send you a decision as soon as processing is complete or you will be notified if further information or action is needed. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address.

What does it mean?

Congratulations SliderMK!

Thank you! :)

Yesterday I received an official transfer, today another email. As far as I know USCIS tranfers the petitions to Service Centers not local USCIS offices. This might be a glitch in the system.

I'll have to wait the official USCIS letter.

Anyway I'm sooooooo happy things are starting to move. I really hope USCIS will finish October petitions by the end of April, maybe May :)

Good Luck! :)

i received an update 5 days ago that our case was transferred to a service center (didn't say which one) and then received another update yesterday that it was transferred to a local office. we both live abroad and our embassy doesn't have a USCIS office, so i have NO idea what's going on now...

We are in the same situation. Transferred to a ¨local office¨ today but we both live abroad and nothing is being processed through our embassy. I think that just means that we got transferred to a Service Center. I guess we'll have to wait for the hard copy in the mail to be sure!

Please update my status in the spreadsheet. March 11 - case status change: Transferred to local USCIS office (not sure which). biggrin.png

Got an email from my lawyer...she said approvals are averaging about a month after the transfer. That was my guess also, I think we start seeing NOA2's in 4 to 6 weeks. I hope sooner! :)

I have a question how much time they take when they start processing on the case?

On other sheets on VJ i have seen it as little as two weeks, with an estimated average of about a month or two. USCIS Level II told me yesterday two months. I have seen it longer as well. Who knows what the real average time is.
