Well, I started searching random case numbers before mine....-500, -450, -400, -350 and -300 cases before are all out of "initial review" and have a decision, or other status, showing it is out of NOA1. None were pending RFE. Kind of a little hope there. +/- 300 cases to go before mine pops up! That might be logical thinking, but who knows? Sometimes a little progress is all we need to see. Heck they are processing 300 cases a week, right?!!!!? Hahahahahaha

Look at NVC guide. You need package for Affidavit of Support, and a bunch of other steps.

I would say it wouldn't hurt to be prepared. Just be careful win police certificates as they apparently have an expiry date in some countries.

Once we get approval I intend to start preparing for NVC even though it's taking a while to get a case number, I just want everything to run as smoothly as possible without delays because we weren't prepared. There are lots of help guides within the monthly Nvc thread if you want to have a look at what you will need.

I've been lurking this forum for quite a while but decided it's time to finally join, especially after seeing how frustrated some get when there arent enough timelines on here! I'm the petitioner and my NOA1 date is October 11. Not sure how to add the animated timelines on the bottom of each post. Hope everyone is sailing smooth through this process and I'm glad to see we are all here to support one another! Also, as the previous poster mentioned, I'm not sure if I'm already added to the October list, but if someone can give a hand I would love to do that now. Thanks!

Have been watching this forum for awhile and wanted someone to add my information to the spreadsheet in case it can help (can't seem to edit myself):

Priority date: October 1st

This is actually my second time applying for a green card for my husband. We have been married 10 years and he had a green card since 2004. Back then we applied through the Cairo, Egypt embassy and it took all of 4 months to have the green card in hand. I thought that was a long time. Guess not! No longer is this possible- everyone must apply through the US- can't do it through the embassy. We recently were living abroad and didn't intend to move back to US. That changed because of the situation in Egypt. Because we were out of the US for over 2 years and my husband had not traveled back to the US during that time, I had to apply for a new green card for him to join me here now. He tried for a returning resident visa, but was denied because the embassy interviewer said he could have traveled back to the US during that time to keep the residency valid. He could have had US citizenship a long time ago when we were living in the US, but never wanted to apply (was not ready to take that step). This time, he will apply for citizenship because I do not want to deal with this whole process again. Hoping this goes quickly for everyone. Very hard to have families separated- my son and I have been living here in the US without my husband since July 2013.
