Hello Everyone!

i have a doubt, i will go in the U.S. for see my husband for one month in feb for s. Valentine day, we are still waiting for the NOA2 and my work made me a document say that my leave day are confirm and i will go back to work on the 16 march.

Is this document enough for prove that i will go back in my country? Or can be some problem at the airport?

Thank you everybody!

No one can say for sure what contitutes enough proof that you are returning home. They may let you right through without asking much of anything, or they might refuse you. Depends on the officer. Bring as much proof as you can: return ticket, work documents, lease on your apartment, whatever you have.

I personally have not been asked for any documentary evidence, even though I had it with me, and I've gotten through just fine so far, although the longest I've been in the us for since applying was about two weeks.

Good luck!

I think I'm doing ok. I had a mini freak out a couple of hours ago because I realised it might be a problem that the seal on our marriage cert is barely visible in the photocopy... but if it's a problem then it'll be an easy RFE to deal with at least.

I'm having real trouble sleeping. It used to just be work nights because I was conscious of how little time I had left to sleep, but even on weekends I lay awake staring at the ceiling. I'm like a zombie every day and can't perform as well at work. All I can think about is my case status.

One good thing that happened this week - I sent all my DVDs and videogames to my husband and they arrived yesterday safe and sound smile.png still don't know what to do with the rest of my stuff. My books are too heavy and I don't even know how I'll pack/ship my stereo! Or my Wii... maybe we'll just have to buy replacements sad.png

We have a new work experience boy at my office and he's always asking me questions about my husband which is therapeutic in a way. His brother is married to a girl in New Orleans and he went the K-1 route. I don't remember how long ago he did it, but it sounded like it was during a time K-1s were backlogged, poor guy. Seems that as soon as one visa type goes smoothly, another goes to s***, lol.

Yep Im with ya. Sleepless nights and that constant looming RFE notice in the back of my mind. Lovely don't forget to bring your dvd player along when you come over here. I'm glad to find out that the DVD players are different. I had thought about bringing DVD's on my next visit to my husband so we could relax and watch a movie. But then again Africa doesn't have the best power supply. I can imagine getting into the movie and ooppps there goes the electricity.

Lol about the visa's. Its a work in progress I just pray they clear the back log and continue working on schedule. I've really been watching the transfers in Nebraska and they seem to be moving at a good rate. It looks to be that they are working on some April and May transfers. I just pray they go a little faster and get to October filers ASAP....

They may also ask for a peek at your immigration papers, as they have done for some people including myself. So take along a copy of your I-130 applicaton papers or even the I-797C, to show that you're already invested in the legal approach to immigrating.

Hmm I've become a little paranoid about our application. I think we forgot to include a photocopy of my husbands passport or birth certificate. He's the petitioner and USC, and his passport number and social security number were included in the paperwork. Is this a big deal?

I believe I did read in the instructions to send a photo copy of the USC passport or birth certificate. I sent both I am the USC. I wonder if you could call the USCIS to see if there is a possibility you could mail them in to be put with your file. Did you make a copy of what you sent to them? If so double check and make sure if it was sent or not.

Thanks, I think I might call them. I only kept a copy of all my docs, as I sent them to my husband to submit (im in australia). He thought it was stupid for them to need his passport etc as he's a USC and then it just kinda got forgotten about in amongst everything else. I'm not expecting to hear from them that quickly so i guess it can't hurt to try follow up in the meantime.

Hello everyone, October filer too :)

I sent my application on October 11th and received the confirmation e-mail on October 29th.
We never received the NOA1 by mail, we called the uscis several times and they told us that we didn't need to have the hard copy if we already have a receipt number from the email and can track it online.

Did the NOA1 contain any other information other than the receipt number?

Awaiting NOA2...

Thank you for the replies.

Seems I'm not missing any important information.

Yes I checked twice the address and if they can resend the NOA1 but they told me twice they don't resend documents. I read in the thread that some people got their NOA1 resent that's why I got confused...

Hopefully NOA2 will not be arriving soon and won't get lost in the mail :).

That's weird that they won't resend it. If you decide to try for a K-3, you'd need to submit the I-129F with a photocopy of your NOA1. Also if your spouse visits and you decide to adjust status, you'd need it. I'm sure there are a whole host of other reasons why you need the hardcopy, not to mention the fact that it means if you were to get an RFE, you'd probably not receive that either.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Yes, we had trouble getting a hard copy of the Noa1 too. Originally waited 6 weeks, then called and checked the address, they said they'd re-send it, and waited almost another 6 weeks for it. It finally came so no idea what happened to the other copy. We'd wanted it for the 129f but decided not to file one. It's sounds quite strange they actually wouldn't send you a copy though. But as long as you have the email alerts etc you'll know when something is supposedly being sent to you.
