so, i received my NOA1 October 1st, 2013. When I check online or speak to a tier 2 officer, my case is still under initial review. my husband has a tricky case, but is USCIS allowed to just simply never make a decision? it's been almost a year now.

What is tricky about the case? They have to make a decision eventually, it just for some cases it does take them more than a year to do so. File a service request to find out whats the hold up for.

Hi everyone.

Happy to report that we finally had our I-130 approved by USCIS (NOA2) after 10.5 months, three service requests and a congressional inquiry (think that ultimately did the trick, btw). Happy about that, but trying not get our hopes up for a fast NVC process and interview (to keep ourselves from going insane). However, we're wondering how things have been for everyone else via Canadian consular processing. Should we be thinking another 3-4 months or be prepared for a longer wait. Our lawyer is submitting everything NVC needs all at once. Not sure what that means but perhaps you all could shed a little light on that.

Thanks!

Hi Yes I am still waiting and I too feel that I have been lost in the system, as I find it hard to believe that it could take a year to check someone. Neither of us has a criminal record, I got a speeding ticket once and my partner a DUI thats it. I have tried every channel to get some answers but nothing. I wonder what we have in common thats what I am trying to find. Mail me

Hi everyone!

About to send IV supporting documents.

Police clearance: on the NVC website it says only a photocopy. Spoke with Rep on phone and she said must send original. What have your experiences been? Any checklists for not sending in the original?

:-)

:-)

Each country is different, my wife is in colombia and we got the police clearance online through a website so it was a print out.

If you can get an original, I recommend sending the original to avoid any checklist, make sure you double check the documents before sending them over to NVC. It's better taking your time than rushing and getting a checklist afterwards

Good Luck!!!

Hi TheBigO,

Your query was the final push to get me to update my timeline which I have been meaning to do. We are only able to send in the AOS package this weekend due to circumstance and were a bit delayed in getting the IV package in, again due to circumstance.

All updated now.
