I just called nvc too - they've had my case since 18th march - she told me to call back in 3 weeks. Sigh!

Ps - I feel for everyone still waiting for i130 approvals if there are any!!!

Gosh, almost two months and still no case number? That blows :(

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

Whew, finally! This morning we got an approval (email).

On May 5, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

My original pd was Oct. 22. I believe there is a spreadsheet where people keep tabs on this? I dont have involvement with it but letting people know. I will go update my timeline now :)

NOA1: October 10, 2013

NOA2: May 4, 2014

NVC:
NVC received: May 20, 2014

Case # assigned: June 10, 2014

Received DS-261: June 25, 2014*

Submit DS-261: June 25, 2014*
Received AOS invoice: June 25, 2014
Pay AOS invoice: June 25, 2014

Receive IV Invoice: July 28, 2014

IV Payment available AND paid: July 29, 2014

ds-260 available and completed: August 3, 2014

AOS Scan Date: July 8, 2014
IV Package Scan date: August 11, 2014

AOS accepted and approved (no checklist): August 26, 2014

Case Complete: Sept. 30, 2014

Interview: November 20, 2014*

*note: we also sent an email to nvcinquiry with the DS-261 information on June 20, 2014

Laurel Scott just updated her Facebook saying we should stop calling NVC with unnecessary inquiries because the backlog from USCIS is now transferring on to them. I guess it means the people who answer the phones also review the cases? Otherwise I don't understand how calling creates a delay. Either way, I might hang on a little bit before calling again if it's causing issues.

OK I called NVC again today. The lady confirmed that the case number I was given on Friday IS for the 1-130 petition and that is the one they are processing. :)

She said the K3 will be administratively closed. She also gave me the Invoice Identification Number as well! She said I should receive an email in the next couple weeks about what to do.

I'm really, really surprised- I guess I got lucky!!?!?!

Applying for a K-3 visa is a gamble. It may benefit you at the NVC stage, but I've seen delayed cases because they applied for a K-3 visa at the USCIS stage. I evaluated risks and benefits and decided not to apply for it. :idea:

Yeah- you know when I applied for the K3 I had no idea about risks of benefits....just that it was something I could try to attempt to get my husband here faster. Honestly, maybe it had nothing to with getting the case number/IIN fairly quickly or maybe it did. Who knows?

I am glad because any way to make this faster is better because I am afraid of the wait time we will face for getting the interview in Cairo.

I am glad you told me about the DS 261- out of curiosity I checked it out and it was available! So filled it out. One more thing down.
