A couple of days ago now I filled in a Service Request (via https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do) on behalf of my wife for my visa as it had been over 6 months since the NOA1. The wife received an automated confirmation email saying that the service request was in and to expect a reply before May 20.

Well the day after I received an automated email from USCIS saying that on April 28th USCIS had approved by I-130! Huzzah! :dancing:

Congrats! Sounds like filing the service request paid off!

So it looks like NSC is moving, but moving SLOWLY. I don't see why our case hasn't been touched at ll since it was transferred. I just want to know they have looked at it at least! I called to check on the service request, the rep said they sent my request to NBC, and NBC should forward it to NSC. She told me that the service request can take 15-30 days now.....when I put in the request, the rep said 15 days. :(

What going on with our case?!

You may want to read Saylin's NVC Process to understand the next stage. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

You'll receive an email from NSC once they've shipped your case to NVC. NVC will probably receive it in 14-20 days from today. :clock:

Now whether this was circumstantial or linked to to the submission of a service request who knows? However for those who can't be bothered waiting for a custom service rep filing an service request for you, consider the page I linked above.*

* Your mileage may vary.

PS: Can someone please update the October spreadsheet for me? Cheers.

I tried to file a service request via https://egov.uscis.gov/e-Request/Intro.do but it says that my application is within the posted processing times. I am well past the 6 month limit so not sure what gives....bummer! :sleepy:

You'll notice the TSC processing time was updated today to Sept. 30. Being able to file a service request is based on being before or after this date, not 6 months after your processing time. When this date is after your date, then you can file the service request.

From what I gather, the October TSC cases are likely still waiting for the security checks to come in. I don't know what the reason for the long delay in receiving them is!

Going to call NVC tomorrow and see if the numbers are ready yet. They totally won't be, but sometimes a little Friday disappointment is needed <3

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I have seen some October approvals from Texas in timelines that I am following, so I feel It is not correct to say they are waiting for security checks to come in.

For those still waiting for approval, when you check the status of your case on the USCIS website does it say "Initial Review"? If so, when was the last time that information was updated? Mine says it was last updated on 23 October.

I ask this because from what I can figure my application has not been touched at all since it was submitted, is there a way of knowing if it has been assigned to an officer or is "moving"?

My husband called two days ago and the lady he spoke to said that TSC is still working on September backlogs. She offered to submit a service request and my husband has to call back after 3 weeks.

I'm thinking maybe the people in TSC are just getting whatever they can get and not following the order it was received.

TSC please move fast as you can!
