I guess it used to take 5 weeks to get a case number 2 months ago. Now it's taking a month to get a case number.

I hope it takes 3 weeks for me to get a case number in May as they reduce the backlog. There was one person who got her case number right away. I hope I get that lucky! Fingers crossed!

Well, "lucky" at NVC, maybe... She waited 11 months plus for her NOA2! I suspect that someone flagged her file specifically when it got shipped to NVC.

Hi , i have nt been checking on this vj webpage.. i'm glad alot of people got approved =)

so i got the NOA2 on April 7th and then got another update that the petition was shipped to NVC on April 14th!

nither i or my wife called the NVC since then.. and have nt received any email about if NVC recieved the petition or nt..

how does it work? should we call? or should we wait?

and after recieving the case will NVC give a new case number??

thanks in advance =)

Yes, call! Some people receive emails from NVC and some never do... You have to call to see if your file has arrived.

Then count on about 30 days after it arrives to be assigned your new case number and invoice identification number.

Wait a few days until the new month and then check out the new NVC filers thread. The April one is a gazillion pages long, so you might as well wait for the new one.

Is your timeline updated?

Hi! I think that you might have a case number already assigned, since your NOA2 date is march 17th and it was from CSC!

NVC received my case (also from CSC) 10 days after my NOA2 date (March 21st), and I'm almost sure that I'll get a case number next Wednesday… :dancing:

Currently (according to the NVC thread), all those cases that were received by NVC before (and including) March 26th already have a case number assigned...

So if you don't have it on Monday, you will definitely have it by Friday!

Good Luck

:jest: :D :P

Finally got through on the phone - I have a case number and an invoice number, but was told not to pay anything yet as they have not started processing my case.

Hi everyone.

I am wondering if you think I meet the criteria for filing a service request. My PD is 23 October 2013 and I-130 is at Texas Service Centre.

6 months & 1 week have past since my PD. As of 28 Feb TSC is processing 8 September I-130 applications but I would assume that they would well and truly be working on end of October by now.... Hopefully. Are they? Any Texas / end of October filers?

Don't know whether to wait until the next monthly update.

Thoughts?

PS: checking my receipt number has me sitting on "Initial review" with the application "last updated" 6 months ago.

No - my wife is going to start doing it on Monday.

I thought that a visa case number would be emailed to the email address USCIS have - nada so far.

it's time to be proactive at this stage. the sooner you finish, the sooner you get a case complete and an interview date..

Got a text last night. They have received my RFE Response...My status is now "RFE Response Review".

I never received a copy of the RFE, only my lawyer. I sent a scanned copy of my wedding certificates to my lawyer for submittal. USCIS did not request a notarized copy of my marriage certificates, at least that I am aware of. They did not request a copy of the translations either (which was originally sent with the initial application), so I assume that is good.

If I get another RFE I am going to lose my mind. This RFE caused my wife and I to lose an entire month. The wedding certificates I submitted were perfectly legible, excellent copies. I made 6 copies all at the same time and have two of them here at my house...the same ones were submitted to USCIS. Telling me "the were illegible" was a crock of s**t. They either lost them or they were damaged by USCIS.

And yea....I am past 6 months now also.
